PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. Those in
attendance were Committee Chairman Rich Wagoner,
Councilmember Pat Burns and Councilmember Mike Weekley.
Staff in attendance were Public Works Director, Frank A.
Currie, City Engineer Dennis Dowdy, Assistant Public Works
Director, Alice Conrad and Airport Manager, John Anderson.
ISSUES
A. RESOLUTION NO. 2437 FIXES A TIME FOR PUBLIC NEARING ON
PETITION FOR VACATION OF STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY.
Public Works Director, Frank Currie, presented
RESOLUTION 2437; a discussion was held concerning
Right-of-Way allocation and reserving 20 feet for any
future street improvements. Being satisfied with
response, Councilmember, Mike Weekley, made a motion,
seconded by Committee Chairman, Rich Wagoner, with a
recommendation for approval; motion was passed
unanimously.
B. RESOLUTION NO. 2435 - EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH JONGEJAN
GERRARD MCNEAL TO PREPARE A MASTER PLAN FOR THE GREEN
RIVER TRAIL AND PRELIMINARY DESIGN FOR REGIONAL STORM-
WATER FACILITIES SERVING NORTHEAST AUBURN.
Public Works Director, Frank Currie, introduced
RESOLUTION NO. 2435; Councilmembers expressed concerns
over level of detail and the percentages charged. The
Committee recommended Council return to the Public
Works Committee for further information.
The Committee recommended the following Consent item A
through C at their September 20, 1993 meeting:

A. REQUEST TO SURPLUS EQUIPMENT
B. UTILITY BILL ADJUSTMENT TO ACCOUNT NO. 2.42.5230
IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS AND
THIRTY-FOUR CENTS (8413.34)
C. UTILITY BILL ADJUSTMENT TO ACCOUNT NO. 2.19.500 IN
THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS
AND SEVENTY-SEVEN CENTS ($729.77)
INFORMATION OR DISCUSSION
A. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT BUDGET
Public Works Director, Frank Currie, presented the
1994 Public Works Budget and addressed questions
and concerns from Councilmembers.
B. AIRPORT BUDGET
Airport Manager, John Anderson, presented the 1994
Airport Budget and responded to questions from
Councilmembers.
C. "F" STREET AT 2ND STREET S.E.
City Engineer, Dennis Dowdy, addressed the traffic
flow concerns of Councilmembers. A decision was
tentatively made to ask staff to consider a Speed
Watch Program or to utilize a volunteer group.
ADJOURN
There being no further business to come before the Council,
the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
