AlJ ORDIlJAlrGE: Declaring public emergencies to exist re-
quiring the expenditures during the year 1927, from the current
expense fund of the City of Auburn, of moneys not provided for in
the budget for the year 1927, for the purpose of paying fees of the
Police Judge of the City of Auburn, and for the purpose of paying the
first and second installments of assessments for the grading of "C"
street ~. E. in~. I. D. No. 87 upon property owned by the City of
Auburn; estimating the amount of moneys required to meet such emer-
gencies; and directing that emergency warrants be drawn upon the current
expense fund of the City of auburn to meet such expenditures.

SECTION 1. That the following are facts:
(a) The city budget for the year 1927 contains an item of
~150.00 for expenditures for fees of the rolice Judge during said

year; such sum of ~150.00 is nearly exhausted; and it is estimated
that an additional sum of $125.00 will be required to pay the fees of
such rolice Judge during the remainder of the year 1927.
(b) That since the budget for the year 1927 was adopted, in
an action to quiet title, the City of Auburn has been duly adjudged to
be the owner in fee simple of certain lands situate in ~overnment ~ots
Numbered J!,our (4) and .lnve \ 5) in lJection Eighteen (18), Township
iwenty-one (211 J.~orth of Range Five (5) East W. M., adjacent to "C"
street S. E. in the City of Auburn; that said lands of which the ~ity
of Auburn has been so adjudged to be the owner are subject to assess-
ments duly levied in J.l1 I. .;. No. 87 of the local improvement districts
of said city for the grading of said "cn Street S. E.; and that the

of this ordinance, a public emergency now exists requiring the expendi-
ture during the year 1927, from the current expense furld of the vity of
auburn, of moneys not provided for in the budget for the year 1927 for

emergencies could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of making
the budget of estiraated expenditures from the current expense fund of
the City of Auburn during the year 1927, which budget was adopted by the
City Council in October, 1926; and that the estimated amount of expendi-
tures required to meet such emergencies is the sum of ~~125 . 00 for fees
of Police Judge of the City of Auburn, and the sum of $445.65 for the
purpose of paying the first and second assessments against lands o'lfmed
by the City of Auburn and abutting upon "Clf Street s. E. in said city
for the grading of said street.
SECTION 3. That emergency warrants be drawn on the current
expense fund of the City of Auburn, in payment fur fees of the rolice
Judge of the City of Auburn, in addition to the amount provided for in
the budget adopted in October, 1926, to the amount of, but not to exceed
in the aggregate, the sum of 4;125.00, and in payment of the first and
second installments of assessments levied against property owned by the
City of Auburn and abutting upon "C" Street S. E. in said city, for the
grading of said "C" Street S. E. in L r.;,). Di). 87, to the amount of
