A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR T0 AWARD
AND EXEGUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC
WORKS CONTRACT NUMBER 10-19 FOR PROJECT CP0914, F
STREET SE / 4TH STREET SE SIGNAL -
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Aubum has approved a project to
. design and consfruct a traffic signal at the intersection of F Street SE and 4"' Street SE
funded by a Federal Highway Safety Improvement Grant; and
WHEREAS, a project Bid Opening for the construction of the traffic signal took
place on August 12, 2010 which did not allow enough time for staff to complete bid
verification prior to the City Council meeting; and
V1/HEREAS, waiting to award the construction contract until the next regularly
scheduled meeting would result in a three week delay of the construction start date;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Aubum Public Works Department will assess the bids
received and identify the Lowest Responsible Bidder; and `
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to award and execute public works
construction contract 10-19, with all expediency to take advantage of the remaining
construction season.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Aubum is hereby authorized to review
.bids, award, and execute an Agreement between the City of Auburn and the Lowest
Responsible Bidder, for Project Number CP0914, Public Works Contract Number 10- 19, F Street SE / 4"' Street SE Traffic, which agreement shall conform with the Bid
Documents, provided that the bid amount does not exceed the project budget.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this.
legislation.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
signatures hereon.
