CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of January 11, 2011
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on January 11, 2011
in Resource Room #2 Iocated on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street,
Auburn, WA. The following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gene Cerino, Cyril Van Selus and Roger Thordarson.
STAFF PRESENT: Police Chief Bob Lee, Assistant City Attorney Steven Gross, and Civil Service
Seccetary Terry Mendoza.
ACTION:
Chairman Cerino called the meeting to order at 3:37 p.m.
Approval of the December 14, 2010 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Member Van Selus; Chairman Pro Tem
Thordarson seconded.
Approval of the January 7, 2011 Lateral Police Officer Eligibility list:
• Eligibility list approved. Motion by Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson; Member Van Selus
seconded.
Approval of the updates for the City of Auburn Civil Service Rules:
Updates approved. Motion by Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson; Member Van Selus
seconded.
UPDATES:
Chief Lee provided the following updates to the Commission:
• Currently, one police officer position remains open and three additional positions are
frozen.
• Effective January 1, 2011 Officer Dan 0'Neil was promoted to Sergeant.
