CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON COMMITTEES
MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 5, 1995 MEETING
Call To Order
Don Kurle, Committee Chair, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Council work area located in
the Mayor's Office. Those in attendance included Committee members Don Kurle, Pat Bums and
Stacey Brothers. Mayor Charles A. Booth and City Clerk Robin Wohlhueter were also in attendance.
New Business
Committee Chair pon Kurle stated the purpose of the meeting is to designate the members of the
Standing Gomm'ittees of the City Council of the City of Auburn for 1995.
Mr Kurle noted a request has been submitted that would move Rich Wagner, currently �ce Chair of
Municipal Services Committee, to Vice Chair of the Planning & Community Developmerrt Committee,
and Jeanne Barber currently �ce Chair of the Planning & Community Development Committee, to �ce
Chair of the Municipal Services Committee. He said Rich Wagner and Jeanne Barber have agreed to
make this change subject to approval of the Committee on Committees and full Council.
Councilmembers Burns and Brothers concurred wfth the proposed change in committee assignments
Councilmember Brothers submitted a request that he be named as Mayor Pro Tem for 1995. Discussion
centered around the feasibility of moving Councilmember Brothers to the Mayor Pro Tem position. Kurie
and Bums supported leaving the Standing Commitees of the Auburn City Council as they are with the
exception of the above referenced change. Councilmembers agreed that Don Kurle should retain the
position of Mayor Pro Tem and Councilman-At-Large for 1995.
Councilmember Brothers raised a questio� related to membership on the LEOFF Board and Fire Relief&
Pension Board. It was noted Virginia Haugen's appointment to the LEOFF Board was confirmed by the
Council at its meeting of January 3, 1995. Councilmember Haugen is filling Trish Borden's unexpired
term, and Councilmember Jeanne Barber will continue on the LEOFF Board. The Fire Relief&'Pension
o Board membership is designated by state statute. It was noted the Chairman of the Finance Committee,
" Jeanne Barber, is a member of the Fire Relief& Pension Board.
Adiournment
There being no further business to come before the Council Committee on Committees, the meeting
was adjoumed at 5:20 p.m.
