social network accounts since 2009 and currently has ten Facebook accounts

Department and White River Valley Museum. Hinman also shared that the city

Hinman reminded the Junior Council that this will be an official government
account and to be aware that all material on the account is public.
Chair Lindell clarified that the purpose of the Twitter account will be to promote
their anti - bullying campaign and to update the public on their progress. Hinman
asked the Junior Council to create a Twitter handle and hashtags to bring to the
next meeting.
Since the Junior Council's official launch of their anti - bullying campaign will take
place at Auburn's birthday party in June, Dana Hinman suggested that the
Junior Council do smaller activities beforehand. An idea that was shared was to
transfer the Junior Council page that is currently on the city website to the
Twitter account. The Junior Council would also like collect signature pledges
from students in the Auburn School District and make a large paper chain to
present at the City's birthday party. Auburn KidsDay, which also takes place in
June, is another opportunity for the Junior Council to display their paper chain.
Dana Hinman offered to have the Junior Council featured in the June issue of
the Auburn magazine to promote their campaign.
B. Junior Council Attendance at National League of Cities
Deputy Mayor John Holman explained that the City Council attends the National
League of Cities (NLC) Conference once a year in Washington D.C. Other cities
that attend the conference often bring members from their Junior
Council. Deputy Mayor Holman asked if there would be interest in attending
National League of Cities next year. The Junior Council will discuss funding of
the trip and chaperones as the next NLC Conference nears.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Junior City Council, the meeting
adjourned at 6:04 p.m.
