MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Roll Call
Chair Cole Lindell called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. in Conference Room
3 at Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn.
Junior City Councilmembers present: Chair Cole Lindell, Vice Chair Sydney
Campbell, Brandon Berend, Tyler Cushing, Dalton Hands and Mary Riel.
Angelina Zalutskiy was absent.
Staff members present: Deputy Mayor John Holman and Council Assistant
Antoinette Manthey.
B. Announcements
There were no announcements.
C. Agenda Modifications
Council Assistant Antoinette Manthey added Junior Council Appearance Request
to the agenda as Item B.
Deputy Mayor John Holman added Budget Proposal to the agenda as Item C.
II. CONSENT AGENDA
A. June 15, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Junior Council to approve the June 15, 2015 meeting minutes.
Motion by Member Hands to approve the June 15, 2015 meeting minutes,
seconded by Member Cushing. Motion carried unanimously.
III. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Planning of Auburn Health Fair with Laura Westergard
CA.A
Laura Westergard, Executive Director of the Auburn Downtown Association
explained what the Health Fair is and its purpose to the Junior Council. She
asked what the Junior Council would like at their anti - bullying booth such as
tables and signage. Laura Westergard and the Junior Council discussed logistics
of the anti - bullying booth such as set -up and breakdown, splitting the Junior

Councilmembers into shifts during the Health Fair and creating a vision to keep
the audience's attention when people visit the booth.
B. Junior Council Appearance Requests
Council Assistant Manthey shared that there have been requests for the Junior
Council to appear at events and participate in workshops. Lauren Flemister,
Urban Design Planner, would like the Junior Council's participation in a
workshop focused on the design of downtown Auburn. The Junior Council has
also been invited to participate in National Night Out on August 4, 2015. Each
Junior Councilmember will be paired with a City Councilmember and will visit
multiple neighborhoods around Auburn to discuss topics such as crime
prevention and safety.
C. Junior Council Budget
Deputy Mayor Holman shared that the City Council is willing to pass a budget
amendment to the current two -year budget so the Junior Council may have
funds for items such travel, chaperones and events. This topic will be discussed
in further detail at the meeting in September 2015.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Junior City Council, the meeting
adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
