Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing The City of Auburn’s Human Services Committee will conduct a public hearing on August 22, 2022 at 4:00pm in the City Hall Annex building located at 1 E. Main St, Auburn, WA 98002. The purpose of this public hearing is to solicit public comments on the 2023 CDBG Annual Action Plan prior to development of the plan and submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The proposed 2023 Annual Action Plan is a requirement for the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The Action Plan will describe housing and community development needs as well as proposed activities to address those needs. The Action Plan will reflect all public comments received. The Action Plan brings together the planning and funding recommendations for human services, neighborhood revitalization and capital improvements funded by the Community Development Block Grant program. The public can participate in-person, via phone, virtually via Zoom, or submit written comments in advance of the scheduled meeting. Participants can submit written comments via mail, fax, or email. All written comments must be received prior to 3:00 p.m. on the day of the scheduled meeting. CALL TO ORDER HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES May 23, 2022 The Human Services Committee meeting was called to order by at 4:04 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022 via Zoom. Committee Members present: Jason Berry, Carmen Goers, Janeane La Casse, Kelly Lindberg, Sue Miller, Suzanne Pak, Shawn Parkhurst Paton, Erica Tomas Staff present: Human Service Program Coordinator- Kyla Wright Community Services Manager, Joy Scott Absent: II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Committee Member Jason Berry moved to accept the March 2022 meeting minutes. There were no April 2022 meeting minutes because the April meeting was not held due to lack of quorum. Committee Member Sue Miller seconded the motion. All committee members were in favor of adopting the minutes. III. PUBLIC INPUT, PUBLIC HEARINGS, AND CORRESPONDENCE There was no public input or correspondence received. IV. OTHER BUSINESS a. Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA)- New format for OPMA was reviewed with committee members. b. 2023-2024 Human Service Funding Collaborative Application Update- Committee Chair Goers made a motion for application review Subcommittees established by Priority Areas. Committee Member Pak seconded that motion. All Committee Members moved to approve the creation of Priority Area V. ANNOUNCEMENTS • Next meeting, see review session schedule for June and July VI.
