AN ORDIHAlWE providing for the improvement of that portion
of I street S.E. situate between Second Street S.E. and :.b'ourtb S tree t
S.E., all in the City of Auburn, by the laying therein of a water
main to connect with the southerly end of the esisting ~ater main
now laid in said street and extending the same southerly along said
street to connect with the existing water main on jj10urth street S.E.;
creating local improvement district 110. 92 and local improvement
fund. district Ho. 92; and providing for the assessrr.ent of the cost
and expense of Buch improveoent upon the property in said district.

FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That that portion of I Street S.E. in the
City of Auburn, Nashin8ton, situate between Second street S.E. and
Fourth Street S.E. be improved by the laying of a water main therein
to connect with the soutberly end of the existing water main now laid
in said street and extending the same southerly along said street to
connect with the existing water main on Fourth ~treet S.E., and by
the doing of other work incidental thereto, all in accordance with
plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City ~ngineer and
now on file in the office of the Jity Clerk.
Section 2. That the cost and expense of said improvement.
including all necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne. by
and assessed against the property included in the assessment district
hereinafter created in accordance Nith law. The City of Auburn shall
not be liable in any menner for any portion of the cost and expense of
said improvement except as herein provided.
~ection 3. That there is hereby established a local im-
provement district, to be c~lled Local Improvement District No. 92,
which said district is described as follows; "All the property between
the terminii of said improvement and on each side thereof, abutting
upon, adjacent, vicinal or proximate to said portion of said street
to a distance back from the marginal line thereof, as provided by
law. "
Section 4. That said improvement shall be made under the
supervision of the 0ity Council of the City of Auburn or such committee
or person as the City 00uncil may designate.
Section 5. That there is hereby established in the treasury
of the Oi ty of Auburn a fund to be knovffi and designated as uLocnl
Improvement .i!~nd, .lJistrict No. 92". That all money paid into the Oi ty
ireasury of the City of Auburn on account of the cost and expense of
improvements in said district shall be paid into and credited to said
fund, and that all warrants dravm or issuedb;;, the Ji ty in pay:nent of
the improvements in or expense against said district shall be drawn
upon and payable from said fund.
Section 6. 11hat the cost and expense of said improvement
shall be defrayed by special assessments payable by the mode of
ffimmedh.lte payment" whereby the assessment for said improve:Ilent shall
be due and collectable at once, and not in installments, and the

treasurer shall upon receipt of an assessment 1'011 therefor publish
a notice in the official paper in said City for two consecutive weekly
issues that such roll is in his hands for collection and that any
assessment thereon or any portion of any assessment may be paid at
any time within thirty (30) days from the date of the first publication
of said notice, without interestt penalty or coste. and that unless
payment be madE within such time such assessment or such unpaid portion
thereof will beco:ne delinquent. Jelinquent assessments shall bear
interest at the rate of 8' per cent pE.'r annum and may be collect-
ed and a lien thereof enforced in tbe manner provided by lavv.
Section? This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
five (5) days from and >-liter its passage and publication as required by
law.
