<br /> <br />1- "'-- <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />~(''"' <br />OU.:::. <br /> <br />o R DIN A N C E NO. 68t- <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE relating to the starting of fires outside <br />of any building for the purpose of burning brush, logs, stumps, <br />rubbish, grass, or refuse matter, except by written permission <br />of the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn, with- <br />in the corporate limits of the City of Auburn, and providing pen- <br />alties for the violation thereof. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Seotion 1. PERMITS TO BURN:- It shall be unlawful for <br />any person to start or cause to be started, any fire outside of <br />any building within the corporate limits of the City of Auburn, <br />for the purpose of burning any brush, logs, stumps, grass, rub- <br />bish or refuse matter, except by written permission of the Chief <br />of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn or his duly author- <br />ized agent, and suoh permit shall in no event be for a longer per- <br />iod than thirty days, and subject to cancellation at any time by <br />the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn, and in no <br />event shall it provide for the starting of fires except between <br />the hours of sunrise and sunset. No such fire shall be kindled <br />within twenty-five (25) feet of any oombustible wall, fence, or <br />struoture, and in all oases the person to whom any permit is is- <br />sued in conformity with the provisions of this Section shall have <br />the fire continuously under the care and direction of a competent <br />person, from the time it is kindled until it is extinguished, who <br />shall take proper precaution to prevent the spread of such fire to <br />adjacent property or materials, and to keep or maintain the same <br />under full control. <br /> <br />Section 2. That any person who shall violate any of the <br />provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemea- <br />nor, and upon the oonviotion thereof shall be punished by a fine of <br />not less than $5.00 nor more than $50.00, in the disoretion of the <br /> <br />Court. auJ 6-t. ~ ~~ <br /> <br />Seotion 3.
