HomeMy WebLinkAbout682 1- "'-- " .. ~(''"' OU.:::. o R DIN A N C E NO. 68t- AN ORDINANCE relating to the starting of fires outside of any building for the purpose of burning brush, logs, stumps, rubbish, grass, or refuse matter, except by written permission of the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn, with- in the corporate limits of the City of Auburn, and providing pen- alties for the violation thereof. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Seotion 1. PERMITS TO BURN:- It shall be unlawful for any person to start or cause to be started, any fire outside of any building within the corporate limits of the City of Auburn, for the purpose of burning any brush, logs, stumps, grass, rub- bish or refuse matter, except by written permission of the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn or his duly author- ized agent, and suoh permit shall in no event be for a longer per- iod than thirty days, and subject to cancellation at any time by the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Auburn, and in no event shall it provide for the starting of fires except between the hours of sunrise and sunset. No such fire shall be kindled within twenty-five (25) feet of any oombustible wall, fence, or struoture, and in all oases the person to whom any permit is is- sued in conformity with the provisions of this Section shall have the fire continuously under the care and direction of a competent person, from the time it is kindled until it is extinguished, who shall take proper precaution to prevent the spread of such fire to adjacent property or materials, and to keep or maintain the same under full control. Section 2. That any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemea- nor, and upon the oonviotion thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than $50.00, in the disoretion of the Court. auJ 6-t. ~ ~~ Seotion 3.
