AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO AND PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEX-
ATION TO THE CITY OF AUBURN OF A CONTIGUOUS AREA OF LAND LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST-
ERLY MARGINAL LINE OF THE EXISTING CITY LIMiTS OF THE CITY OF AUBUHN, WHICH LAND IS
DESCRIBED iN A PETITION DULY FILED WITH THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIH OF AUBURN.
ORDINANCE NO. 1877
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Auburn was notified by owners of property
having more than ten per cent in value of the assessed valuation within the proposed area
to be annexed, that they desired to circulate a petition to commence annexation proceed-
ings to the City of Auburn; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn subsequently authol"Ìzed the cir-
culation of the petition within the proposed area to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, the petition for annexation of the property hereinafter d'~scribed was duly
fi led with the City Counci I of the City of Auburn on the 21st day of February, 1966, which
petition was signed by the owners of more than 75% in value of all of the property lying
within'the limits of the proposed area to be annexed according to the assessed valuation
for general taxation of the property for which an annexation is petitioned, said petition
setting forth the legal description of the property to be annexed and b,~ing accompanied
by a plat outlining the boundaries of said area sought to be annexed; al,d,
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the Ci ty of Auburn fixed a date for pub I ic hearing to
be held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the City of Auburn on March 21. 1966, setting
forth notice of said public hearing for annexation taibe published in the official City
newspaper of the City of Auburn in one issue of said newspaper, and providing for the
posting in three public places within the area proposed for annexation of copies of said
notice of public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing of said petition of annexation t., the City of
Auburn has been duly published in the official newspaper of the City of Auburn In one
regular issue of said newspaper, and the said notice of public hearing having been posted
in throe public places within the area proposed for annexation by the City Clerk of the
City of Auburn, and said public hearing being held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the
City of Auburn on March 21, 1966, and the City Counci I of the City of Auburn having deter-
mined that said annexation is in the best interest and welfare of the City of Auburn, did
accept and approve the pet i t i on above descr i bed and directed the Mayor ,~f the City of
Auburn to convene a Board of Review to consider the proposed annexation, as required by
Section 2, Chapter 282, Laws of the State of Washington, for the'year 1961; and,
WHEREAS, on March 31, 1966, at a meet i n9 of the Board of Revi ew cOlnvened to cons i der
the annexation, by motion duly made and carried, a majority of the Board of Review ap-

proved the petition for annexation to the City of Auburn as submitted, ¡!nd forwarded
their findings to the City Counci I of the City of Auburn;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDA I NED BY THE CITY COUNC il OF THE CITY OF I\UBURN, WASH I NGTON,
AS FOllOWS:
Section i. That the petition for annexation of the following desc,-Ibed property has
been du I y and proper I y f i I ed wi th the City Counc i I of the City of Auburn, and comp lies
with all requirements of iaw.
Section 2. That by regular motion adopted and passed by the City Counci I on the
21st day of February, 1966, it WaS ordered that a public hearing be held on said petition
for annexation at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the City of Auburn on Mi~rch 21, 1966, pro-
viding for the proper notice to be published and posted according to I a...
Section 3. That proper notice of public hearing was duly publiShel:f in the official
newspaper of the City of Auburn on the 9th day of March, 1966, and was duly posted in
three pubiic places within the area proposed for annexation hereinafter described, and
that a public hearing was held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the Clt'f of Auburn on the
21st day of March, 1966.
Section 4. That at the conclusion of the public hearing in the City Hal I of the City
of Auburn on the 21st day of March, 1966, the City Counci I did approve the petition for
annexation and directed the Mayor to convene a Board of Review to consider the proposed
annexation to the City of Auburn.
Section 5. That on March 31, 1966, by motion duly made and carried, a majority of
the Board of Review approved the petition for annexation to the City of Auburn.
Section 6. That the property lying contiguous to the westerly mar.ginal line of the
existing city limits of the City of Auburn hereinafter described be and the same is hereby
annexed to the City of Auburn, Sa i d property be i ng more part i cu I ar Iy de:scr i bed as:
Beginning at a point on the City of Auburn I imits, said point being
93.6 feet west of the northeast corner of the northwest quart'er of
Section 13, Township 21 North, Range 4 East W. M.; thence west along
the north line of aforesaid section 13, and the north line of Section
14, Township 21 North, Range 4 East W. M. to the northwest co,rner of
the northeast quarter of aforesaid Section 14; thence north along the
east line of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section
I I, Township 21 North, Range 4 East W. M. to the northeast corner of the
southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of aforesaid Secti,on II;
thence west along the north line of the southeast quarter of the south-
west quarter of aforesaid Section II to the northwest corner of the
southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of aforesaid Section II;
thence north along the west line of the northeast quarter of the south-
west quarter and the west line of the southeast quarter of the north-
west quarter to the northwest corner of the southeast quarter of the
northwest quarter of aforesaid Section II; thence east along the north
line of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of aforesaid
Section II, to the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of the
northeast quarter of aforesaid Section II; thence north along the west
I ine of the northwest quarter of the:':northeast quarter of aforesaid

(City of Auburn limitsl thence south along the Puget Sound Power &
Li ght Company R/W to the Po i nt of Beg i nn i ng, situate in the Ce.unty of
King, State of Washington.
Section 7. That the effective date of the annexation of the above described prop-
erty to the City of Auburn shall be the effective date of the passage of this ordinance
providing for such annexation.
Section B. That in accordance with the terms of the' petition for Mnexation of the
above described property, the area to be annexed shall assume the indebtedness of the City
of Auburn existing at the effective date of the passage of this ordinane:e.
Section 9. That this ordinance shall take effect five 151 days fre.m and after its
passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
