<br />ORD I NANCE ~ O. 19/3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATlW; TO AND PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEX- <br />ATION TO THE CITY OF AUBURN A CONTIGUOUS AREA OF LAND LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST- <br />ERLY IM.RGINAL LINE OF THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE rlTY OF AUBURN, WHICH LAND IS <br />DESCRIBED IN A PETITION DULY FILED WITH THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1877. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Counc i I of thp City of Aubu~n w~s not i f i ed by owne~s of p~opedy <br /> <br />having mo~e than ten pe~ cent in value of the assessed valuation within the p~oposed a~ea <br /> <br />to be annexed, that they desi~ed to ci~culate a petition to commence arnexation p~oceed- <br /> <br />ings to the Ci ty of Aubu~n; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Auburn subsequently authorized the circu- <br /> <br />lation of the petition within the proposed area to be annexed; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the petition for annexation of the property he~einafte~ described waS duly <br /> <br />fi led with the City Counci I of the City of Auburn on the 21st day of February, 1966, which <br /> <br />petition waS signed by the owners of more than 75% in value of all of the property lying <br /> <br />within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed according to the assessed valuation <br /> <br />for general taxation of the property for which an annexation is petitioned, said petition <br /> <br />setting forth the legal description of the p~opert y to be annexed and tlei ng accompanied <br />by a plat out lining the boundaries of said area sought to be annexêd¡ and, <br /> WHEREAS, the CI ty Counci I of the Ci ty of Aubu~n fixed a date for pUb'ic hearing to <br /> <br />be held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the City of Auburn on March 21, 1966, setting <br /> <br />forth notice of said public hea~ing for annexation to be published in the official City <br /> <br />newspaper of the City of Auburn in one issue of sa i d newspape~, and pnw i ding fo~ the <br /> <br />posting in three public places within the area proposed for annexation of copies of said <br /> <br />notice of public hearing; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, notice of public hearing of said petition of annexation to the City of <br /> <br />Aubu~n has been duly publ ished in the official newspaper of the City of Aubu~n in one <br /> <br />regular issue of said newspaper, and the said notice of public hearing having been posted <br /> <br />in three public places within the area p~oposed fo~ annexation by the City Cle~k of the <br /> <br />City of Auburn, and said public hearing being held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hal I of the <br /> <br />City of Auburn on March 21, 1966, and the City Counci I of the City of Auburn having deter- <br /> <br />mined that said annexation is in the best interest and welfare of the City of Aubu~n, did <br /> <br />accept and approve the petition above desc~ibed and directed the Mayo~ of the City of <br /> <br />Auburn to convene a 80a~d of Review to consider the p~oposed annexation, as ~eqlJi~pd by <br /> <br />Section 2, Chapter 282, Laws of the State of Washington, for the yea~ 1961; and, <br /> <br />~~EREAS, on March 31, 1966, at a meeting of the Board of Review convened to consider <br /> <br />the annexation, by motion duly made and carried, a ma.io~ity of the 80a~d of Review ap- <br /> <br />PaMP nn~ <br />
