ORDLNANCE NO. Z 7 6 3
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHLNGTON, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF
A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT 1529 8TH STREET N.E., SITUATE WITHIN
THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION THEREOF
FROM R~4 to R~4 WITH A SPECIAL PROPERTY USE PERMIT.
WHEREAS, a petition dated June 22, 1973, together with plot plans and
-- ----~ elevatiQl1S _therefor has been submitted to the Council fJ1Lt!le iity of
Auburn, by R. F. BAKER, requesting a Special Permit which would ~llow for the
remodeling of an existing single family dwelling into a beauty shop on a parcel
of land located at 1529 8th Street Northeast, which property hereinafter described
in Section 1 of this Ordinance, which property presently carries an R-4 (Multiple
Family) classification; and,
WHEREAS, said request above referred to was referred by the City Council
to the City Planning Commission for study and public hearing thereon; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider the
request in the City Hall of the City of Auburn at 7:30 P.M. on August 7, 1973,
and subsequent thereto the City Pl anning Commission approved the issuance of the
Special Permit, finding th.at the proposed use illustrated by the site development
plans of the petitioner would not be unduly detrimental to the adjacent and
surrounding properties and the enjoyment thereof; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn held a public hearing to
consi.der said petition in the City Hall of the City of Auburn at 8:00 P.M. on
September 17, 1973, <It the conclusion of which the City Council concurred with the
recommendations of the Planning Commission as hereinabove statèd;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Seètion 1. That a special permit be granted for the purpose of remodeling
an existing single family dwelling into a beauty shop on the following described
property, to-wit:
Th.at portion of Block 10, C.D. Hillman's Auburndale Division
No.2 in Section 7, Twp 21 N, Range 5 E, W.M. described as follows:
The west 70 feet of the south 150 feet of the East 167 .1 feet
LESS the south 30 feet for street, in the City of Auburn, County
of King, state of Washington.

(Y in accordance'with the plot plans and exterior elevations for said development

~ submitted with the request for special permit, a copy of which is attached hereto,
designated Exhibit "A" and by this reference made a part hereof as though set
forth herein in full.
Section 2. Any outside lighting shall be directed in such a manner that it
does--11Ut-interfere with the-adjoimng property owners,!1s well as from any public
street or highway.
Sectiòn 3. Adequate off street parking must be supplied according to City
Code Section No. 11.16.160, and that the parking area must be paved with asphaltic
concrete or similar surfacing and shall have appropriate bumper guards where needed.
Section 4. That only one sign shall be permitted not to exceed six (6) square
feet in area and containing the name and occupation only. Said sign shall be
attached to the building and not be illuminated.
Section 5. That no window displays pertaining to such occupation be visable
from a public street.
Section-G. Thàt the landscaping of this property shall be in accordance with
the Landscaping Ordinance of the City of Auburn.
Sectiòn 7. That the plot plans be submitted and approved by the Planning
Department prior to the issuance of a building permit and shall be attached to
and become a part of this ordinance.
Sectiòn 8. That the City Clerk of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized
and directed to file a certified of this Ordinance with the King County Auditor's
Office.
Section 9. That this Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days from and
after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
