AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHTNGTON, AMENDING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH
OF AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 10.08.330 REGARDING DELINQUENT
PAYMENTS AND COLLECTIONS FQR WATER BILLS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO QRDaIN. AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The first paragraph of Auburn Codified City Ordinance 10.08.330
which reads as follows:
"10.08.330 Delinquent payments--collections. Where water
charges, due and payable and delinquent for a period of twenty
(20) days, water service shall be discontinued. There will be
a$5.00 turn on charge added to statement when water service is
discontinued for delinquency of payment. Water service turned
on after shut.off for delinquency if delinquency payment is not
made in time for water personnel to resume service during normal
working hours, water service wi17 not be turned on until the next
normal working day."
is amended to read as follows:
"10.08.330 Delinquent payments--collections. Al1 utility bills are
due and payable in the office of the City Treasurer within ten (10) days
after the billing date appearing on the bill. Twenty-one (21) days
after billing date a reminder bill for accounts with outstanding
balances will be sent. Thirty-five (35) days after billing the service
will be subject to shut off of service, without further notice. Service
sha11 hot be restored in the case of water and sewer until full payment
of delinquent amounts is received, together with a water turn on charge
of $5.00; provided, however, that when the thirty-fifth (35th) day falls
on a legal holiday, Saturday or Sunday, the first business day thereafter
sha11 be considered the thirty-fifth (35th) day. Water service turned on
after shut off for delinquency, if delinquency payment is not made in time
for water personnel to resume service during normal working hours, no
later than 3:30 P.M., water service will not be turned on until the next
normal working day."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days
from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
