AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ANNEXING TO
THE CITY CERTAIN LAND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, A 23,535 SQUARE FOOT
PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT 3108 "A" STREET S.E. (THE "SANCHEZ &
MAZZEO" ANNEXATION).

5 WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW, the
owners of not less than 75 percent of value according to the
assessed valuation for general taxation of certain lands in

$ King County, Washington, and more particularly described in
9 Section 1 of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the
lO City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to

13 WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW various
14 proceedings were had; and
15 WHEREAS, notice of intention to annex was filed with the
~ ~ 16 King County Boundary Review Board; and
17 WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board has waived
18 review and, no request for jurisdiction having been filed, the
i 19 proposed annexation is deemed approved as a matter of law; and
20 WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said
annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the
22 procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the
requisite number of property owners of their notice of

2 intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including
the consideration of the passage of this Ordinance also meets
4 the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to
be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and have not

heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town;
7 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
8 WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
9 Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of
l0 Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of
King, State of Washington, which legal description is

described as follows:
Lots 4 and 5, Block 6, South Auburn Garden
Tracts, as recorded in Volume 20, Page 76,
14 Records of King County, Washington;
together with that portion of 32nd Street
S.E. (AKA South 359th Street) that abuts
15 and adjoins the south line of said Lot 5.
16 Seotion 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be
17
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
18 other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed
19 to pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to
20 which the area was annexed.

Seotion 3. That the annexation of the property will
22
become effective on the effective date of this Ordinance and
the property shall become part of the City of Auburn, subject

2 to all of the laws and ordinances of the City then otherwise
$ provided by law.
Section 4. Within ten (10) days after the effective date

5 of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City
Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the
7 Clerk of the County Council one (1) certified copies of this
Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive
8
Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which
]0 letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review
~ Board relating to this annexation.

C) Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall
~ file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the King County
~ 14 Department of Assessments, Accounting Division.
~ 15 Section 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
]6 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
17 out the directions of this legislation.
18 Section 7. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
19 force five days from and after its passage, approval and
20 publication as provided by law.
