AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ~ENDING CITY
OF AUBURN ZONING CODE CHAPTER 18.48.
WHEREAS, the Auburn School District has requested the
Zoning Code be amended to allow athletic and playground
lighting to exceed the height requirements of the P-1 Public
Use Zone; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at their February 28,
1994 meeting conducted a public hearing on the proposed
amendment, at the conclusion of which it was the decision of
the Planning Commission to recommend to the City Council to
amend Section 18.48.030 of the Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 1994, during a regular meeting, the

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the
Auburn Zoning Code to allow athletic and playground lighting
to exceed the height limitation of the P-1 zone.
Section Z. City of Auburn Zoning Code Chapter 18.48 is
hereby amended as delineated in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.

EXHIBIT "A"
18.48.030 Height limitations.
A. Exceptions.
The following buildings and/or structures are exempt from
the height requirements of this title, in no case does
this lessen any height restrictions that relate to the
municipal airport:
Cupolas, provided they do not extend more than three
(3) feet above the roof line;
Church spires or steeples, provided they conform to
elevations as approved under a conditional use
permit;
Transmission line towers, including telephone line
towers and similar types of other line towers,
located within public street rights-of-way,
easements, or on private property, and which are
constructed in accordance with other regulations as
required by the city;
Residential television antennae, provided they are
used in conjunction with the reception of commercial
television station signals and are not used for
transmission purposes;
