HomeMy WebLinkAbout4665 1 ORDINANCE NO. 4 6 6 5 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN., WASHINGTON, ANNEXING TO THE CITY CERTAIN LAND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, PROPERTY TOTALLING 1.i7 ACRES LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 29TH AND "A" 4 STREET S.E. (THE "RENNEMO" ANNEXATION). 5 WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW, the owners of 100 percent of value according to the assessed 7 valuation for general taxation of certain lands in King 8 County, Washington, and more particularly described in Section 9 1 of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the City ]0 Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to have annexed to the City of Auburn the said described land; and 12 WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW various proceedings were held; and ]4 WHEREAS, notice of intention to annex was filed with the 15 King County Boundary Review Board; and WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board has waived ]7 review and, no request for jurisdiction having been filed, the proposed annexation is deemed approved as a matter of law; and WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said 20 annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the 22 requisite number of property owners of their notice of 23 intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including 24 the consideration of the passage of this ordinance also meets 25 Ordinance No. 4665 March 30, 1994 Page 1 ! 2 the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and have not 4 heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town; 5 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of 8 Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of 9 King, State of Washington, which legal description is ]0 described as follows: 11 Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 1, South Auburn ]2 Garden Tracts, as recorded on Page 76, Volume 20, records of King County, Washington, togetherwith the following described parcel: 14 Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 15 12 of said Block 1, thence south along the west line of Lot 12 and Lot 11, of said Block 1, to its intersection with the Auburn City Limits as .established by ]7 Ordinance No. 4138; said point being on a line 103 feet north of and parallel to the 18 north line of Lot 4, of said Block 1; thence west along said City Limits to its ]9 intersection with the west right-of-way line of "A" Street S.E.; thence north along the west right-of-way line of "A" Street S.E. to its intersection with the south line of Lot 3 of said Block 1; thence east along said south line of Lot 3 22 to the true point of beginning. 23 Situate in the northwest quarter of Section 30, Township 21 N, Range 5 E.W.M., 24 City of Auburn, County of King, State of Washington. 25 Ordinance No. 4665 March 30, ] 994 Page 2 1 2 Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as 4 other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed 5 to pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to which the area was annexed. 6 7 Section 3. That the annexation of the property will become effective on the effective date of this Ordinance and 8 9 the property shall become part of the City of Auburn, subject 10 to all of the laws and ordinances of the City then otherwise ]1 provided by law. 12 Section 4. Within ten (10) days after the effective date ]$ of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City 14 Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the 15 Clerk of the County Council one (1) certified copy of this 16 Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive 17 Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which 18 letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review 19 Board relating to this annexation. 20 Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement 2! such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry 22 out the directions of this legislation. 23 Section 6.
