AND NORTH OF SO. 280TH ST. AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE NORTHERN CITY LIMITS. WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW, the owners of 72.7% percent of value according to the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain lands in King County, Washington, and more particularly described in Section i of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to have annexed to the City of Auburn the said described land; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW various proceedings were held; and WHEREAS, notice of intention to annex was filed with the King County Boundary Review Board; and WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board approved the annexation on June 30, 1995; and WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including the consideration of the passage of this ordinance also meets the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to Ordinance No. 4770 July 7, 1995 Page I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Seotion 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of King, State of Washington, legally described as follows: have not OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, That portion of the East one-half of Section 36 and that portion of the Northwest quarter of Section 31, all in Township 22 North, Range 6 East, W.M., in King County, Washington, described as follows: Beginning on a point on the Auburn City Limits, as established by City of Auburn Ordinance No. 3420, said point being the intersection of said City Limits with the north right of way line of South 277th Street; thence east along the north right of way line of said S. 277th ST. to a point northerly of Highway Engineer's Station 2+75, said station described in Warranty Deeds recorded under King County recording numbers 5770326 and 5788897: thence southerly to a point 30.00 feet southerly of said Highway Engineer's Station, 2+75, to its intersection with the Auburn City Limits as established by City Of Auburn Ordinance No. 2511; thence southerly along said City Limits, as established by Ordinance # 2511, to the north right of way line of South 280th ST.; thence westerly along the north right of way line of said S. 280th ST., if extended, to its intersection with said City Limits established by Ordinance No. 3420: thence north along said City Limits as established by Ordinance No. 3420 to the True Point of Beginning. Less that property previously annexed to the City of Auburn and legally described by City of Auburn Ordinance # 3659. Situate in the County of King, State of Washington. That the property hereby annexed shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed to pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to which the area was annexed. Section 3~ That the annexation of the property will become effective on the effective date of this Ordinance and the property shall become part of the City of Auburn, subject to all of the laws and ordinances of the City then otherwise provided by law. Section 4. Within ten (10) days after the effective date of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the Clerk of the County Council one (1) certified copy of this Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review Board relating to this annexation. Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the King County Department of Assessments, Accounting Division. Section 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
