AND EAST OF "B" ST. NW AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE 4 NORTHERN CITY LIMITS. ~ m-IEREAS, in accordance with Chapter ~5A.14 RCW, the owners of 73% percent of value according to the assessed valuation for general taxation cf certain lands in King 8 ~ County, ~ashington, and moro part±cularl¥ describsd in Section 1 of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the City 10 Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to have annexed to the City of Auburn the said described land; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW various proceedings were held; and 14 15 WHEREAS, notice of intention to annex was filed with the King County Boundary Review Board; and 17 WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board approved the annexation on July 29, 1995; and 18 19 WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said 20 annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the 21 procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the 22 requisite number of property owners of their notice of 23 intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including 24 the consideration of the passage of this ordinance also meets 25 the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to 2~ Ordinan~ No. 4780 August 2, 1995 Page 1 ! 2 be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and have not $ heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town; 4 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, 5 WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 ~ That there shall be annexed to the city of 7 Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of 8 King, State of Washington, legally described as follows: 9 That portion of the east half of Section !0 36, Township 22 North, Range 4 East W.M., and the west half of Section 31, Township 22 North, Range 5 East W.M., King County, 11 Washington, described as follows: 12 Beginning on a point on the Auburn City 13 limits as established by City of Auburn Ordinance No. 4347, said point being the southwest corner of lot 23 of White River Valley Home Tracts as recorded in Volume 15 13 Page 17, records of King County, Washington; thence east along said City Limits established by Ordinance No. 4347 a 16 distance of 361 feet and 4 inches; thence 17 north along said City Limits established by Ordinance No. 4347 to the north line of 18 said lot 23, AKA the City limits as established by said Ordinance 4347; thence 19 east along said City limits as established by Ordinance No. 4347 to the northeast 20 corner of said lot 23; thence north along the east line of lot 24 and lot 25 of said 21 White River Valley Home Tracts to the southwest corner of lot 4 of the White 22 River Valley Home Tracts, second addition, an unrecorded subdivision; thence east 23 along the south line of said lot 4 to the west right of way line of 85th Avenue 24 South; thence north along the west right of way line of said 85th Ave. So. to its 25 intersection with the Auburn City limits Ordinan~ No. 4780 Aught 2, 1~5 Page 2 ! as established by City of Auburn Ordinance No. 2511; thence northwesterly along said 2 City limits established by Ordinance No. 2511 to the north right of way line of 3 South 280th Street; thence west along the north right of way line of said So. 280th. 4 ST., and if extended, to its intersection with the Auburn City Limits as established 5 by City of Auburn Ordinance No. 3420; thence south along said City Limits 6 established by Ordinance No. 3420 to its intersection with the Auburn City Limits 7 as established by Ordinance No. 4347; thence east along said City limits 8 established by Ordinance No. 4347 to the True Point of Beginning. 9 Situate in the County of King, State of 10 Washington. Seotion 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be !2 assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed 14 15 to pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to which the area was annexed. Section 3. That the annexation of the property will become effective on the effective date of this Ordinance and 18 the property shall become part of the City of Auburn, subject 19 to all of the laws and ordinances of the City then otherwise 20 21 provided by law. 22 Seotion 4. Within ten (10) days after the effective date 23 of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City 24 Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the 25 Clerk of the county council one (1) certified copy of this 26 Ordinan~ No. 47~ Aught ~ 1995 Page3 I [ I ! 2 Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive 3 Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which 4 letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review Board relating to this annexation. 5 6 Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall 7 file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the King County Department of Assessments, Accounting Division. 8 9 Section 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement 10 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. 12 Section 7. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in 13 force five days from and after its passage, approval and 14 publication as provided by law.
