HomeMy WebLinkAbout52091 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. 5 2 0 9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPROVING REIMBURSEMENT OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF THIRTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE AND 00/100 DOLLARS, ($13,745), AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE SEATTLE-KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE CITY OF AUBURN TO ACCEPT THE REIMBURSEMENT FUNDS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A PORTION OF THE EDUCATIONAL ELEMENT OF THE LOCAL HAZARDOUS WASTE MAI~AGEMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council of the City of Auburn must adopt and approve all appropriations by Ordinance pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RC~, the City hereby approves the expenditure and appropriation of a total amount of THIRTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS {$13,745) which constitutes reimbursement of funds for sponsoring one Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, during which used motor oil, used tires and lead acid batteries will be collected for recycling. The City will also coordinate the ~Clean and Green" campaign to promote the use of alternatives to household hazardous products through promotional give-aways, educational messages and other incentives as an element of the Local Hazardous Waste Ordinance NO. 5209 January tl, 1999 Page 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 Management Program in accordance with the Local Hazardous Waste Management Plan for Seattle-King County. Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are authorized to execute Memorandum of Understanding on the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program for 1999 Activities Agreement No. D-22049D-AM3 with Seattle-King County Department of Public Health for the reimbursement of said funds. Scope of Work The City of Auburn will sponsor one Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, during which used motor oil, used tires and lead acid batteries will be collected for recycling. The City will also coordinate the "Clean and Green" campaign to promote the use of alternatives to household hazardous products through promotional give-aways, educational messages and other incentives. Reportinq Requirements The City shall submit progress reports to the Department with each payment request. Evidence of Coverage 'l?he above captioned entity is a member of the Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA), which is a self insured pool of over 94 municipal corporations in the State of Washington. WCIA has at least $ l million per occurrence combined single limit of liability coverage in its self insured layer that may be applicable in the event an incident occurs that is deemed to be attributed to the negligence of the member. WC[A is an Interlocal Agreement among municipalities and liability is completely self fimded by the membership.
