WHEREAS, amendments to the City's Comprehensive Zoning Map have been developed to amend the current Comprehensive Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Zoning Map was adopted in 1987; and WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Plan Map was adopted in 1995; and WHEREAS, the City's current Comprehensive Zoning Map does not fully a Q implement, and is inconsistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan Map; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn determined there was a need to adopt an Cn C=> cm amended Comprehensive Zoning Map; and c WHEREAS, the City identified ten (10) individual amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, the considerations used in the development of the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map are derived from the City's Comprehensive Plan Map; and Ordinance 5430 August 31, 2000 Page 1 q 0 WHEREAS, the environmental impacts of the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map were considered in accordance with the procedures of the State Environmental Policy Act; and WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Zoning Map amendments were transmitted to the Auburn City Planning Commission in June, 2000; and WHEREAS, after proper notice was published in the City's official newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing, the Auburn City Planning Commission on July 6, 2000, conducted a public hearing on the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Planning Commission heard public testimony and took evidence and exhibits it received into consideration in its review of said proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, thereafter the Auburn City Planning Commission recommended certain revisions and then recommended approval by the City Council of the Comprehensive Zoning Map amendments; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Development Committee of the Auburn City Council reviewed the Planning Commission's recommendations and forwarded the amendments to the Auburn City Council; and WHEREAS, after proper notice was published in the City's official newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing, the Auburn City Ordinance 5430 August 31, 2000 Page 2 Council on August 7, 2000, conducted a public hearing on the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Council heard public testimony and took evidence and exhibits into consideration when reviewing the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Council tabled the action for further discussion before the Planning and Community Development Committee of the Auburn City Council; and a o WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Development Committee of c.n the Auburn City Council reviewed and revised the Planning Commission's recommendations and forwarded the revised amendments to the Auburn City �, Council; and WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council on August 21, 2000 removed proposed amendment exhibit B10 from consideration in their action; and WHEREAS, the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map approved by the City Council appropriately implement the City of Auburn Comprehensive Plan; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Ordinance 5430 August 31, 2000 Page 3 Section 1. Purpose. To approve amendments to the City of Auburn's Comprehensive Zoning Map. Secton 2. Adoption. The Auburn City Council does hereby approve amendments to the City's Comprehensive Zoning Map as provided in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein. Section 3. Severability. The provisions of this ordinance are declared to be separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, Ln paragraph, subdivision, section or portion of this ordinance, or the invalidity of 0 0 the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall not affect the validity C114 of the remainder of this ordinance, or the validity of its application to other en C=) persons or circumstances. Q c� Section 4. Recordation. Upon the passage, approval and publication of this Ordinance as provided by law, the City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall cause this Ordinance to be recorded in the office of the King County Auditor, Division of Records and Elections. Section 5. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Ordinance 5430 August 31, 2000 Page 4 Section 6. Effective date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
