AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, ANNEXING TO THE CITY 4.54 -ACRES OF LAND
KNOWN AS THE "GREEN RIVER ACCESS" FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the subject property is located east of the City in King
County, Washington; and
and
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn acquired the subject property in 1994;
WHEREAS, the subject property is 4.54 acres is size, with an accessed

;-n valuation of $247,000, based upon the year 2000 assessment; and

WHEREAS the subject property is now contiguous to the existing City
limits as established by City of Auburn Ordinance #4605; and
WHEREAS, the property is held by the City's Parks and Recreation
Department, to be used for municipal park purposes; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35A.14.300 the City Council may
by majority vote annex property for a municipal purpose when it is owned by the
City; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 36.90.090, changes in boundaries
in cities arising from annexation of contiguous city property held for public

purposes is exempt from the requirement to file notice with the Boundary
Review Board; and
WHEREAS, the subject annexation establishes the parameters for
annexation under the provisions defined under RCW 35A.14.300 and
36.90.090.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO BY MAJORITY VOTE ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose. That there shall be annexed to the City of
Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the county of King, State of
Washington, legally described in Exhibit "A and incorporated herein by this

o Section 2. Constitutionality or Invalidity._ If any section, subsection
N clause or phase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or

hereby expressly declared that this Ordinance and each section, subsection,

unconstitutional.

Section 3. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out
the directives of this legislation.
Section 4. Recording. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall
record a certified copy of this Ordinance with the King County Auditor's Office
Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as
provided by law.
