ORDINANCE NO.5 9 8 2
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ANNEXING
PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF
132ND AVENUE SOUTH IN THE 29400 BLOCK INTO
THE CITY FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35A.14.300 of the Revised Code of
Washington (RCW), legislative bodies of code cities may by a majority vote
annex territory outside the limits of such city, whether contiguous or not
contiguous for any municipal purpose when such territory is owned by the city;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn owns property located on the west side of
132nd Avenue South in the 29400 block, for which it has a municipal purposes, to
wit: for parks and recreation and/or open spaces; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35A.14.300, the City Council
desires to annex said territory into the City of Auburn.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. The City of Auburn owns property located on the west side of
132nd Avenue South in the 29400 block, legally described as follows:
SITUATE IN SECTION 4 TOWNSHIP 21 NORTH RANGE 5
E.W.M., KING COUNTY WASHINGTON, MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
THE SOUTH % OF THE SOUTHEAST Y4 OF THE NORTHEAST Y4
OF SECTION 4 TOWNSHIP 21 NORTH RANGE 5 E.W.M., LESS
COUNTY ROAD - 132ND AVENUE SE;
TOGETHER WITH THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PARCEL;

THENCE SOUTHERLY ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID
SOUTHEAST Y4 337.76 FT TO THE TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING
(TPOB); THENCE S 87-36-42 E 1292.14 FT TO THE WEST
MARGIN OF 132ND AVENUE SE; THENCE SOUTHERLY ALONG
SAID WEST MARGIN 170.94 FT; THENCE N 87-41-44 W 120.01
FT; THENCE S 01-29-46 W 150.01 FT TO SOUTH LINE OF THE
NORTH % OF SAID SOUTHEAST Y4; THENCE WESTERLY
ALONG SAID SOUTH LINE 1172,53 FT TO THE WEST LINE OF
SAID SOUTHEAST Y4; THENCE NORTHERLY ALONG SAID
WEST LINE 322,85 FT TO THE TPOB.
Section 2. The City Council finds that said property should be used for
municipal purposes, to wit: for parks and recreation and/or open spaces.
Section 3. That the City Council hereby annexes said property into the
City of Auburn pursuant to the authority of RCW 35A.14.300.
Section 4. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the
directions of this legislation.
Section 5. Severability. The provisions of this ordinance are declared to
be separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph,
subdivision, section or portion of this ordinance, or the invalidity of the application
thereof to any person or circumstance shall not affect the validity of the
remainder of this ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons or
circumstances.
Section 6. Effective date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law.
