ORDINANCE NO. 6 4 6 9 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTERS <br /> 15.06, AND 15 07 OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE AND <br /> AMENDING SECTIONS 1508A.011, 15.08A.021 AND <br /> 15 36A.011 OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE REGARDING <br /> AMENDMENTS TO AND UPDATING OF BUILDING <br /> CODES <br /> WHEREAS, every few years, the International Code Council updates the <br /> International Building Codes, which include the International Residential Code, <br /> International Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, International Fire Code, and <br /> International Property Maintenance Codes, and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 19.27 of the Revised Code of Washington <br /> (RCW), the Washington State Building Code Council is empowered to amend and adopt <br /> the International Codes, which then become the state building code (state law) that all <br /> jurisdictions in the state are thereafter required to implement; and <br /> WHEREAS, once the State Building Code Council completes its review and <br /> adoption of the codes, local jurisdictions have an opportunity to review and make local <br /> amendments, provided that they are consistent with and no less restrictive than the <br /> International Codes and/or the State amendments (per RCW 19.27 040); and <br /> WHEREAS, Title 15 of the Auburn City Code includes a number of Chapters that <br /> make up the City's building code, and <br /> WHEREAS, during the last half of 2012, the International Code Council released <br /> the 2012 International Code series, replacing the previous 2009 codes, and <br /> WHEREAS, during the first half of 2013, the Washington State Building Code <br /> Council evaluated the 2012 codes and developed/adopted a series of amendments to <br /> the International Building Codes that were released to local jurisdictions at the <br /> beginning of May 2013, and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 19.27.074, the 2012 International Codes and State <br /> amendments would become effective as so adopted on a statewide basis on July 1, <br /> 2013, unless specifically amended by local jurisdictions; and <br /> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br /> Ordinance No. 6469 <br /> June 24, 2013 <br /> Page 1 of 17 <br />
