• <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1846 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTIONS 9.04.020, <br /> 9.04.320, 9.04.430, 9.15.010, 9. 18.020, 9.22.010, 9.22.060, 9.22.080, <br /> 9.22.090, 9.22.120, 9.22.140, 9.22. 160, 9.22.220, 9.22.230, 9.22.240, <br /> 9.22.250, AND 9.26.020 OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE, AND REPEALING SECTIONS <br /> 9.04.230, 9. 12.010, 9.12.020, 9.12.030, 9.22.280, AND 9.22.290 OF THE <br /> AUBURN CITY CODE, SAID SECTIONS OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE AMENDED AND RE- <br /> PEALED RELATING TO CERTAIN TRAFFIC AND PARKING REGULATIONS OF THE CITY <br /> OF AUBURN AND THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF. <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. That Section 9.04.020 of the Auburn City Code be amended, <br /> so that, as amended, said section shall read as follows: <br /> "204.020 Vehicles, Traffic, Etc. _Defined. <br /> (A) Right-0E-way, The right of one vehicle or pedestrian to <br /> proceed in a lawful-manner in preference to another vehicle or pe- <br /> destrian approaching under such circumstances of direction, speed <br /> and proximity as to give rise to danger of collision unless one <br /> grants precedence to the other. <br /> (Ei) Stop. When required, means complete cessation of move- <br /> ment. <br /> (C) Stop or Stopping. When prohibited means any halting even <br /> momentarily of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when nec- <br /> essary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with <br /> the directions of a police officer or traffic-control sign or signal . <br /> (D) Stand or Standing. Means the halting of a vehicle, <br /> whether occupied or not, otherwise than for the purpose of and <br /> while actually engaged in receiving or discharging passengers. <br /> (E) Park or Parking. Means the standing of a vehicle, <br /> whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the <br /> purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading <br /> merchandise or passengers. <br /> (F) Official time standard. Whenever certain hours are named <br /> herein, they shall mean standard time or daylight-saving time as <br /> may be in current use in this city. <br /> (G) Police Officer. Every officer of the municipal police <br /> department of the City of Auhurn or any officer authorized to <br /> direct or regulate traffic or to make arrests for violations of <br /> the traffic regulations of the City of Auburn. <br /> (H) Curb Loading Zone. A space adjacent to a curb re- <br /> served for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or <br /> unloading of passengers or materials. <br /> ( I ) Passenger Curb Loading Zone. A place adjacent to a <br /> curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the load- <br /> ing or unloading of passengers. <br /> (.l) Freight Curb Loading Zone. A space adjacent to a curb <br /> for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unload- <br /> ing of freight ." <br /> Page One <br /> • <br />
