AN ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THOMPSON STREET

IN THE TOWN OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS heretofore, to-wit ; on the 6th day of September, A.D. ,
1911, the owners of more than two-thirds of the real property
fronting on the east and west sides of that portion of Thompson
Street situate south of West First Street , in Auburn, King County,
Washington, caused to be filed in the office of the town clerk of
the town of Auburn a petition, addressed to the Mayor and Town
Council of said town, praying that the following portions of
Thompson Street, in the Town of Auburn, King County, Washington,
particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit :
A.portion of Thompson Street bounded .as follows: Beginning
at the northwest corner of Lot 1, in Block 1 of Milner, running
thence south along the west boundary line of said block 1 to
the southwest corner of said Block 1, thence west a distance of
ten feet to a point, thence north along a line parallel with
and ten feet distant from the west boundary line of said block
one to a point ten feet west of the northwest corner of said
block one, thence east to the point and place of beginning;
Also a potion of Thompson Street bounded as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Block 6, in Milner, run-
ning thence south along the west boundary line of said block
six to the southwest corner of said Block 6, thence west to a
point ten feet distance from said southwest corner of said
block six, thence north along a line running parallel tith and
ten feet distant from the west boundary line of said block 6
to a point ten feet distant from and ten feet west of the place
of beginning, thence east to the place of beginning;
Also a portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block 2 in Milner,
running thence south along the east boundary line of said
Block 2 to the southeast corner of said Block 2, thence east
a distance of ten/feet to a point, thence north on a line
parallel with and ten feet distant from the east boundary line
of said block 2 to a point ten feet east of the north east
corner of said block two, thence west to the place of begin-
ning;
Also a portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block 5, in Milner,
running thence south along the east boundary line of said
Block 5 to the southeast corner of said Block 5 , thence east
to a point ten feet east of the southeast corner of said Block
5, thence northalong a line parallel with and ten feet distant
from the east boundary line of said Block 5 to a point ten feet
east of the northeast corner of said block 5 , thence west to
the place of beginning,

ordinance vacating the same shall provide that the title to said
portions of Thompson Street so vacated shall vest in the owner of
the abutting property; and that the Town Council of said The Town of
Auburn pass a resolution fixing a time and place when and where
said petition should be heard and determined, and,
WHEREAS, the council of said The Town of Auburn, at a regular
Meeting thereof duly' held on the 29th day of November, A.D. , 1911,
at the town hall in the said The Town of Auburn, duly passed a
resolution fixing the 20th day of December, A.D. , 1911, at 8 o 'clock
P.M. of said day, at the town hall in the said The Town of Auburn,
as the time and place when and where said petition should be heard
and determined, and directing the town clerk of the said The Town
of Auburn to give twentydays notice of the pendency of said petition
by a written or printed notice, said notice to be set up in three
of the most public places of the Town of Auburn, and a like notice
set up in a conspiciaus place on the portions of the street sought
to be vacated, said notice to contain a statement that a petition
has been filed to vacate said streets together with the statement
of the time and place fixed for the hearing of said petition; and,
WHEREAS on this 20th day of December, A.D. , 1911, said peti—
tion having been brought up regularly before the council of said
The Town of Auburn at a regular meeting of said Council, at 8 o 'clock
P.M. to be heard and determined, and no written objections to the
granting of said petition having been filed and no one having
appeared to oppose the granting of said petition and satisfactory
proof by affidavit having been filed with the town clerk of said
The Town of Auburn, that on the 30th dUY of November, 1911, said
town clerk personally posted and set up in three of the most public
places in said The Town of Auburn a notice of the pendency of said
petition, which notice was subscribed by said town clerk, and per—
sonally posted and set up a like notice in a conspicious place and
conspieious places on the different portions of Thompson Street

said town clerk to vacate said portions of Thompson Street described.
in said petition, together with the time and place fixed for the
hearing of said petition; and,,
WHEREAS it has been made to appear to the satisfaction of the
council of the Town of Auburn, that said petitioners are the owners
in fee simple of more than two-thirds of the property which abutts
on the portions of Thompson Street sought to be vacated, and that
the Town of Auburn is the owner of the portions of Thompson Street
sought to be vacated; that all of said property is situate within
the corporate limits of said The Town of Auburn; that the vacating of
said portions of Thompson Street sought to be vacated, as aforesaid,
will be for the best interests of said the Town of Auburn and the
inhabitants thereof; and the mayor and council of said The Town of
Auburn being now fully advised of the facts and the law in the
premises;
NOW, THEREFORE;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AUBURN:
Section 1. That the following portions of Thompson Street, in
the Town of Auburn, King County, Washington, particularly bounded
and described as follows, to-wit:
A portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows: Begin-
ning at the northwest corner of Lot 1, in Block 1 of Milner,
running thence south along the west boundary line of said
Block 1 to the southwest corner of said Block 1, thence west
a distance of ten feet to a point, thence north along a line
parallel with and ten feet distant from the west boundary line
of said block one to a point ten feet west of the northwest
corner of said block one, thence east to the point and place
of beginning;
Also a portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows;
Beginning at the northwest corner of Block 6, in Milner, run-
ning thence south along the west boundary line of said block
six to the southwest corner of said Block 6, thence west to a
point ten feet distance from said southwest corner of said
block six, thence north along a line running parallel with and
ten feet distant from the west boundary line of said block 6
to a .point ten feet distant from and ten feet west of the place
of beginning., thence east to the place of beginning;
Also a portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows;
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block 2 in Milner,
running thence south along the east boundary line of said
Block 2 to the southeast corner of said Block 2, thence east
a distance of ten feet to a point , thence north on a line

Also a portion of Thompson Street bounded as follows;
Beginning at the northeast corner of Block 5, in Milner,
running thence south along the east boundary line of said
Block 5 to the southeast corner of said Block 5, thence east
to a point ten feet east of the southeast corner of said Block
5 , thence north along a line parallel with and ten feetdistant
from the east boundary line of said Block 5 to a point ten
feet east of the northeast corner of said Block 5 , thence west
to the place of beginning,
be vacated.
Section 2 . That the title to the portions of Thompson Street
described in Section 1 above shall vest in and belong to the owner
or owners of, and attach to, the property abutting upon said por-
tions of Thompson Street .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and publication as required by
law.
