Comcast Cable 15815 25th Ave West Lynnwood, WA 98087 June 12, 2009 Lorrie Rempher Information Services Director City of Auburn 25 West Main St Auburn, WA 98001 RE: Complimentary Cable Service Dear Ms. Rempher: As you know, Comcast recently completed the migration of its Expanded Basic channels (channels 30 - 70) from analog to digital in your area. Comcast communicated this change with its customers through a variety of tactics including direct mail, voicemail for those customers with Comcast Digital Voice, and e-mail for our Internet customers. Similarly, we communicated this change to those customers who receive complimentary cable television service pursuant to the terms of our cable franchise agreement (i.e. fire stations, libraries, schools, etc.) via US mail. While we have had great success in providing many of these customers with the digital equipment they need to continue viewing Channels 30-70, some sites did not respond to our letters or postcards. Absent installation of the digital equipment, these sites lost access to the Expanded Basic Cable line-up and were subsequently downgraded to Limited Cable Service, which includes Channels 2-29, 75-79 & 99. We have sent each site a final reminder and, upon request, we will supply them with digital equipment. Please contact me at (253) 288-7496 if you have any questions. Sincerely, / r Terry D is Director, Franchising and Government Affairs cc: Janet L. Turpen, Comcast Ken Rhoades, Comcast Dennis Seley, City of Auburn Bradley & Guzzetta, LLC
