MINUTES
November 10, 2008
I. CALL TO ORDER, 3:30 PM, CONFERENCE ROOM NO. 3
Chairman Gene Cerino called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. in Conference
Room 3, located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 W. Main Street,
Auburn, Washington. Members Present: Chairman Gene Cerino, Vice Chair Bill
Peloza, Member Lynn Norman. Staff Present: Mayor Peter B. Lewis, Chief of
Police Jim Kelly, Assistant Chief of Police Larry Miller, Airport Manager Jamelle
Garcia, Financial Planning Manger Karen Jester, Solid Waste & Recycling
Coordinator Joan Clark, Police Secretary Kathy Emmert.
II. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS
There were no agenda modifications.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of Minutes
1. Minutes of the October 27, 2008, Municipal Services
Committee Meeting
Vice Chair Peloza moved to approve the minutes of the October
27, 2008 meeting. Member Norman seconded. Chair Cerino
concurred.
MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
A. Ordinances
There were no ordinances for committee action.
B. Resolutions
1. Resolution No. 4411* (Coleman)
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract amendment and
memorandum of understanding with the Seattle -King County
Department of Public Health relating to a local hazardous waste
management program grant for 2009 activities
Vice Chair Peloza moved to forward to the full Council for approval
Resolution No. 4411. Member Norman seconded. Chair Cerino
concurred.

2. Resolution No. 4414* (Coleman)
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
providing for amendment of the City of Auburn fee schedule to
adjust airport rental rate fees
Vice Chair Peloza moved to forward to the full Council for approval
Resolution No. 4414. Member Norman seconded. Chair Cerino
concurred.
V. INFORMATION I DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Ordinance No. 6207* (Coleman)
An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, authorizing the levy of regular property taxes by the
City of Auburn for collection in 2009
The committee supports the ordinance.
B. Ordinance No. 6209* (Coleman)
An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, amending Ordinance No. 6066, the 2007-2008
Biennial Budget Ordinance as amended by Ordinance Nos. 6086,
6092, 6103, 6119, 6124, 6127, 6128, 6132, 6133, 61.44, 6145,
6164, 6168, 6179, 6180, and Ordinance No. 6201 authorizing
amendment to the City of Auburn 2007-2008 Budget as set forth in
Scheduled "A"
The committee supports the ordinance.
C. Model False Alarm Ordinance* (Kelly)
A memorandum outlining the costs for responding to false alarms
and rationale related to a new ordinance was reviewed. The
committee is interested in reviewing a sample ordinance including
the fee structure, as well as, a comparison of the similar ordinances
in Redmond, Olympia and Pierce County at its next meeting.
D. Matrix
There were no changes to the Matrix.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
