NO. 502, LID 341
Finance Director Victor Thompson asked for Committee approval to file the final
assessment roll for collection and proceed to issue bonds for the unpaid
assessments despite the protests on the Magnuson and Olsen assessments. The
alternative would be to wait for resolution of the protests with possible adjustment
to the final assessment role, which was not recommended as a practical solution.
Thompson also pointed out that the City would have to guarantee payment to the
bond purchasers of the Magnuson and OIsen assessments if the protests are not
resolved before the bond sale. The Committee agreed on this course of action and
agreed to recommend such payment guarantee to the Council in connection with
the Bond Ordinance.
