AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBURN CITY CODE SECTION 2.51.020
ENTITLED "COUNClLMEMBER'S COMPENSATION" CONTAINED IN
CHAPTER 2.51 ENTITLED "COMPENSATION OF OFFICERS" TO REFLECT
CURRENT PAY DATES FOR SERVICES PERFORMED AND TO CLARIFY
HEALTH BENEFITS FOR COUNCILMEMBERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.51.020, entitled "Councilmen's compensation"
contained in Chapter 2.51 of the Auburn City Code entitled "Compensation of
Officers", is amended as follows:
"2.51.020 Councilmember's compensation.
A. On and after January 1, 2002, for those councilmembers eligible
therefore, their monthly salary shall be increased from $675.00 (Six Hundred
Seventy-five Dollars) per month to $800.00 (Eight Hundred Dollars) per month
and health benefits which are available to unaffiliated city employees will be
extended to the councilmembers on or after January 1, 2002, if such benefits
are available to councilmembers. Councilmembers shall pay the full cost of
such insurance.
On or after January 1, 2002, the councilmember named Pro-Tem and
eligible therefore, shall have his/her monthly salary increased from $675.00 (Six

Hundred Seventy-five Dollars) per month to $850.00 (Eight Hundred Fifty
Dollars) per month.
B. The compensation provided for in this section shall be paid on
the f~'o* '
..... eLqhth (8th) and twenty-third (23rd) day of each month succeeding the
month in which services are performed, by proper warrants drawn upon the
finance director of the city. Should the pay day fall on the weekend or holiday,
paychecks will be issued on the previous workday."
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of
this legislation.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days
from and after its passage, approval and provided as provided by law.
