HomeMy WebLinkAbout5520ORDINANCE NO. 5520 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPROVING REIMBURSEMENT OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHT THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE AND 00/100 DOLLARS, ($8,385.00), AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE SEATTLE -KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE CITY OF AUBURN TO ACCEPT THE REIMBURSEMENT OF FUNDS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A PORTION OF THE EDUCATIONAL ELEMENT OF THE LOCAL HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council of the City of Auburn must adopt and approve all appropriations by Ordinance pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW, the City hereby approves the expenditure and appropriation of a total amount of EIGHT THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($8,385.00) which constitutes reimbursement of funds for promoting the use of alternatives to and the proper disposal of household hazardous products through promotional give- aways, educational messages and other incentives. The City will also promote Integrated Pest Management through educational outreach as the elements of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in accordance with the Local Hazardous Waste Management Plan for Seattle -King County. ------------------ Ordinance No. 5520 March 6, 2001 Page 1 Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding on the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program for 2001 Activities Agreement No. D22049D with Seattle -King County Department of Public Health for the reimbursement of said funds. A copy of said Agreement is attached hereto and designated Exhibit "I" and incorporated by reference herein. Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Section 4. Reynolds, City Attorney PUBLISHED: oZd-0 Ordinance No. 5520 March 6, 2001 Page 3 EXHIBIT I D22049D MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON THE LOCAL HAZARD WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR 2001 ACTIVITIES This Memorandum of Understanding between the Seattle -King County Department of Public Health and the City of Auburn specifies the administrative procedures and monetary reimbursement regarding implementation of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program. The City will promote the use of alternatives to and the proper disposal of household hazardous products through promotional give-aways, educational messages and other incentives. The City will also promote IPM through educational outreach. -.. . S- -.•-e The City shall submit progress reports to the Department with each payment request.
