AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE CITY OF AUBURN COMPREHENSIVE
ZONING MAP.
WHEREAS, amendments to the City's Comprehensive Zoning Map have
been developed to amend the current Comprehensive Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Zoning Map was adopted in
1987: and
ti WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Plan Map was adopted in 1995;

_ WHEREAS, the City's current Comprehensive Zoning Map does not fully
implement, and is inconsistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan Map; and

WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has determined there is a need to adopt
an amended Comprehensive Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the City identified nine (9) amendments to the
Comprehensive Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the considerations used in the development of the
amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map are derived from the City's
Comprehensive Plan Map; and

WHEREAS, the environmental impacts of the amendments to the
Comprehensive Zoning Map were considered in accordance with the
procedures of the State Environmental Policy Act; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Zoning Map amendments were
transmitted to the Auburn City Planning Commission in May, 2001; and
WHEREAS, after proper notice was published in the City's official
newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing, the Auburn City
Planning Commission on June 5, 2001, conducted a public hearing on the
proposed amendments; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Planning Commission
heard public testimony and took evidence and exhibits into consideration of said
"' proposed amendments; and
WHEREAS, thereafter the Auburn City Planning Commission
C= recommended approval by the City Council of the Comprehensive Zoning Map

g amendments; and

WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Development Committee of
the Auburn City Council reviewed the Planning Commission's recommendations
and forwarded the amendments to the Auburn City Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map
appropriately implements the City of Auburn Comprehensive Plan; and

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose: The purpose of this Ordinance is to
approve amendments to the current Comprehensive Zoning Map as set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. Constitutionality Or Invalidity: If any section, subsection,
clause, phrase, or sentence, of this Ordinance, is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality of the remaining
portions of this ordinance, as it is being hereby expressly declared that this
ordinance and each section, subsection, clause, phrase, or sentence, hereof
would have been prepared, proposed, adopted, and approved and ratified

irrespective of the fact that any one or more section, subsection, clause,
phrase, or sentence, be declared invalid or unconstitutional.

�.+ Section 3. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to

implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out
the directions of this legislation.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval, and publication, as
provided by law.
