WHEREAS, amendments to the City's Comprehensive Zoning Map have been developed to amend the current Comprehensive Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Zoning Map was adopted in 1987; and WHEREAS, the current Comprehensive Plan Map was adopted in 1995; and WHEREAS, the City's current Comprehensive Zoning Map does not fully implement, and is inconsistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan Map; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn determined the need to adopt an amended Comprehensive Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, the City identified four (4) amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, the considerations used in the development of the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map are derived from the City's Comprehensive Plan Map; and WHEREAS, the environmental impacts of the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map were considered in accordance with the procedures of the State Environmental Policy Act; and Ordinance 5675 July 9, 2002 Page 1 WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Zoning Map amendments were transmitted to the Auburn City Planning Commission in May, 2002; and WHEREAS, after proper notice was published in the City's official newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing, the Auburn City Planning Commission on June 4, 2002, conducted a public hearing on the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Planning Commission heard public testimony and took evidence and exhibits into consideration of said proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, thereafter the Auburn City Planning Commission recommended approval by the City Council of the Comprehensive Zoning Map amendments; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Development Committee of the Auburn City Council reviewed the Planning Commission's recommendations and forwarded the amendments to the Auburn City Council; and WHEREAS, after proper notice was published in the City's official newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing, the Auburn City Council on July 1, 2002, conducted a public hearing on the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, the Auburn City Council heard public testimony and took evidence and exhibits into consideration of said proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, the amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Map appropriately implements the City of Auburn Comprehensive Plan; and Ordinance 5675 July 9, 2002 Page 2 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section '1. Purpose. To approve amendments to the City of Auburn's Comprehensive Zoning Map. Section 2. Adoption. The City of Auburn City Council does hereby approve amendments to the City's Comprehensive Zoning Map as provided for in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein. Section 3. Severability. The provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph, ,,-- subdivision, section or portion of this Ordinance, or the invalidity of the application ~ thereof to any person or circumstance shall not affect the validity of the remainder of =:, this Ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons or circumstances. ~ Section 4. Recordation. Upon the passage, approval and publication of this e,,~. Ordinance as provided by law, the City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall cause this Ordinance to be recorded in the Office of the King County Auditor, Division of Records and Elections. Section 5. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Section 6. Effective Date.
