AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, amending Section 5.20.230 of the Auburn City
Code, relating to Taxicab Business Licenses
WHEREAS, among the responsibilities with which the City of Auburn is engaged
are those involving licensing of certain businesses operating within the City; and,
WHEREAS, one such business licensing regulation, dealing with taxicab
businesses, currently provides that in order to operate a licensed taxicab business in
the City, a current King County taxicab license is also required; and,
WHEREAS, because the City of Auburn is located with parts in both King County
and Pierce County, and because it is possible for a person to travel by taxicab to and
from the City and each of these counties, without having to enter the unincorporated
territory of the other county, it is appropriate to provide in the City Code that either
county taxicab license would be sufficient to meet the taxicab licensing requirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION ONE. That Section 5.20.230 of the Auburn City Code, relating to Taxicab
