AGREEMENT FOR ARTISTIC SERVICE
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this day of _12! L-C~ , 2009, by
and between the City of Auburn, Washington (PRESENTER), a Municipal Corporation of the
State of Washington herein referred to as "CITY" and Chicago City Limits whose contact
information is, 318 W. 53rd St, New York, NY 10019, 212-888-5233, 212-888-0810 (fax),
corporate@chicagocitylimits.com, www.chicagocitylimits.com, herein referred to as
"ARTIST."
WHEREAS, the CITY desires to contract with the ARTIST to provide a performance
(perFormances) for the public in Auburn, Washington; and
WHEREAS, the ARTIST has agreed to perform the work in compliance with the terms
and conditions of this Agreement;
NOW THEREFORE, the CITY and ARTIST in consideration of the conditions and
covenants herein do agree as follows:
1. RETENTION OF ARTIST: The CITY does hereby retain the ARTIST to perform the work
and services described herein. The parties agree that the ARTIST is an independent contractor
and shall furnish all supervision, labor, and all other incidentals except as specifically provided
herein and the ARTIST agrees to conduct and complete the performance in a competent and
professional manner in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
2. SCOPE OF WORK: The ARTIST agrees to provide the following specific services:
7:30pm Jan 30, 2010 - One (1) performance of "Wikiphobia" for BRAVO Performing Arts
Series.
3. SITE OF PERFORMANCE: The ARTIST will conduct its performance at the AUBURN
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 700 E. MAIN ST. (NOTE: Venue is NOT the presenter!) herein
referred to as "VENUE"
4. REQUIREMENTS
a. The CITY shall provide the following for this performance: Promotion of
performance and performance programs; Box office management and staffing; Ushers
and front-of-house staffing (not incl. merchandise sales - Reference Item 7-C below).
b. The ARTIST shall provide the following for the performance: Provide scores
and parts for the company and pay all fees (if any) associated with public performance of
music; Engage and rehearse the company; Provide program content, biographies, and
optional photographs of key production staff ARTISTS for performance program and
public relations materials with the execution of this contract; Additional promotion of event
as negotiated with CITY.

c. Technical Requirements: The CITY shall provide the following technical
assistance for this perFormance: The CITY will assist with coordination of technical
services between the VENUE and the ARTIST. The CITY agrees to provide, through the
VENUE, technical labor for this production, as detailed in the ARTIST'S Technical rider
(See Addendum) and as approved by the technical director of the VENUE and the
ARTIST.
COMPENSATION
a. ARTIST Fee: In consideration of the services to the CITY in connection with the
ARTIST scope of work (performance), the ARTIST shall receive total compensation,
inclusive of travel, of $8,500.00 (incl. all transportation). In addition, Six (6) single
hotel rms on January 29&30, plus Hospitality per Artist Rider will be provided.
b. Complimentary Company Tickets: The ARTIST shall be provided up to Ten
(10) complimentary tickets for the performance. The ARTIST may request tickets in
advance or provide the CITY box office representative with a guest list 30 min. prior to
the performance.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE

a. Deposit of $1,500.00 will be sent to the AGENT An+~-Plerris, ylin Artists
Management, Inc., within 30 days of the execution of this contract, per compliance with the regulations of the CITY Finance Department. Ali?
The ARTIST shall be paid as outlined in Item 5 above by the CITY for the completed
work and performance in compliance with the terms of this Agreement. Such payment
shall be full compensation for all work performed and services rendered under the terms
of this Agreement. The payment to the ARTIST shall be in compliance with the
regulations of the CITY Finance Department. The ARTIST agrees to be responsible for
payment of any and all taxes, which may be due as a result of performance under this
contract.

b. Balance of $7,000.00 will be delivered to the ARTIST's company manager or
his/her designee immediately following the performance. The payment to the ARTIST
shall be in compliance with the regulations of the CITY Finance Department. The ARTIST
agrees to be responsible for payment of any and all taxes, which may be due as a result
of performance under this contract.
PROMOTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotional materials shall be mutually agreed upon between the CITY and the
ARTIST.
b. The ARTIST assumes sole and total responsibility for all of ARTIST Merchandise
Concessions, if any, including inventorv, cash bank, credit card supplies and
sales personnel. ARTIST maintains 100% of total sales receipts of ARTIST
Merchandise. The CITY and/or VENUE will provide (1) table in the lobby of the
VENUE for Merchandise Sales. If ARTIST cannot provide sales personnel, the
CITY will provide up to two volunteer personnel. ARTIST and/or AGENT must
sign a waiver releasing the CITY of any liability regarding the sale of
merchandise.

8. INDEMNIFICATION
The ARTIST agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the CITY, its AGENTs,
representatives and employees harmless from and against any and all claims, causes of
action or demands or any form of liability of any nature inciuding, but not limited to any
copyright infringements for musical performances, arising out of the performance and
obligations contained in this Agreement on the part of the ARTIST, its AGENTs,
representatives and employees except where such claims arise solely from the negligent
acts of the CITY, its AGENTs, representatives or employees.
a ~9. INABILITY TO PERFORM
If ARTIST is incapacitated from rendering services through sickness or otherwise, or if
ARTIST cannot perform because of fire, accident, act of God or impossibility of
performance, through no fault of the CITY, the performance(s) (Item 2: Scope of Work)
shall be rescheduled at a mutually agreed upon date to occur not more than 12 months
following the date of the initially scheduled performance, either at the same VENUE as
initially scheduled or at another comparable venue available to the CITY for such
performance. If the performance cannot be rescheduled within that time frame, 100% of
Deposit (Item 6: Payment Schedule) paid to ARTIST shall be returned to CITY.
If the performance cannot proceed through some fault of the CITY, but the CITY gives at
least ninety (90) days advance notice of cancellation to the ARTIST, 50% of total Deposit
(Item 5-A: ARTIST Fee) paid to ARTIST shall be returned to CITY. If the performance
cannot proceed through some fault of the CITY, and the CITY gives less than ninety (90)
days advance notice of cancellation to the ARTIST, none of the total Deposit shall be
returned to CITY.
10. TERMINATION 5ce-
In the event the ARTIST or the CITY defaults or fails to comply with any of the
requirements of this Agreement, or any obligations hereunder, the CITY may at its opti
terminate the Agreement. Such remedies shall be in addition to any other right or
remedy each may have.
11. NOTICES
Any notice required or permitted under this Agreement may be personally served, or
given in writing, and shall be deemed sufficiently given or served if sent by registered or
certified mail addressed to the respective parties as follows:

Either party may at any time designate a different address to which notices shall be sent.
Notice given in accordance with these provisions shall be deemed received when mailed.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
The following provisions may apply:
A. No waiver by either party of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed a
waiver of any preceding or any subsequent breach or default.
B. This Agreement may not be changed or modified nor any provision hereof
waived except in writing agreed to by both parties.
C. This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with and all questions with
respect hereto shall be determined by the laws of the State of Washington.
D. The ARTIST agrees to pay all reasonable costs, attorney's fees and expenses
that may be incurred by the CITY in enforcing the provisions of this Agreement.
E. In the performance of the work herein, the ARTIST agrees to comply with all
applicable State and local laws, rules and regulations.

THIS ADDENDUM is made and entered into this 16 day of NOVEMBER, 2009, by and

STAGE REQUIREMENTS
On Stage:
• Minimum stage requirement: twenty-four (24) feet by twelve (12) feet
• Steps up to stage if more than two feet (2') high
• Grand, baby grand, or studio upright piano
• Piano must be tuned in advance of Chicago Ciry Liinits' axrival
• Piano should be positioned DSL at 45 degrees facing center
• Four (4) sturdy chairs without arms
• Chairs should be glow-taped on top, on front, and on each side.
• One (1) wireless or wired vocal microphone with stand that can easily travel between downstage center
and offstage right throughout the course of the technical rehearsal and performance
• Note: T'his microphone will be used as a prop only and need not be connected to the sound mix.
Wing Area:
• Backstage wing area SR with prop table and costume rack (see Artist Rider, below, for details)
• Backstage lights SR and SL
• Lighted crossover space between SR and SL with running lights
Backstage:
• For details on backstage requirements (including dressing rooms, green rooms, etc.) please see the
Artist Rider, below.
LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS
Looks:
• The Chicago City Linvts performance is improvised, including the lighting design. As such, there are no
set lighting cues; instead there is a set of lighting looks that are used throughout the performance.
The required looks are:
• General warm wash
• General cool wash
• Washes should cover the entire performing area.
• Downstage Right special

Technical Requirements Rider
• Downstage Center special
• Downstage Left special
• Piano special
• Specials should be bright and focused on the area indicated (i.e., piano, area of stage).
Any additional looks are welcome, though they are not necessary. Examples of optional looks include:
• Additional washes (i.e., amber, lavendar, green, etc.)
• Additional specials (i.e., right/center, left/center, etc.)
• Any overhead or high side washes (i.e., cool, warm, colors, etc.)
~ Any other available looks (i.e., gobos, traveler lights, etc.)
Control:
• All lights must be wired to a single light board.
• Each of the required looks must be wired to a single dimmer on the light board.
• The light board must be capable of parking fixtures at a minimum level independent of all other
controls (including the grandmaster).
• This requirement allows the setting of a blackout that allows our actors to move safely between
scenes. The exact level of the blackout (i.e., blue wash at 10%) will be set during technical rehearsal.
• The ability to control the level of the house lights from the light booth is preferred.
Operation:
• Chicago City L'units' Stage Manager will run lights during the show.
Setup:
• Prior to Load-In (see DAY-OF-PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE, below) all equipment must be tested
to ensure that it is working properly.
• Backups/Replacements for any and all equipment/batteries must be available throughout the course of
technical rehearsals and performances.
SOUND REQUIREMENTS
Microphones:
• Four (4) individual wireless microphones for actors
• Lavalier-sryle wireless microphones are stron 1 preferred.
• Two (2) wireless or wired backstage microphones with stands (one in each backstage wing)
• One (1) wireless or wired vocal microphone with boom for the piano player
• One (1) piano microphone for the piano (if necessary to achieve optimal vocal/instrument mix)
• One (1) wireless or wired vocal microphone at the lighting control board
• One (1) onstage prop microphone and stand (see STAGE REQUIRMENTS, above)
• Fresh batteries installed in all wireless microphones' body packs.
Monitors:
• At least two (2) on-stage monitors for perfomers
• At least one (1) on-stage monitor for piano player
• At least one (2) nackstage monitor in each wing (SR and SL)
• At least one (1) monitor at the lighting control board
• All monitors should be adjustable, allowing different levels/feeds into each of the individual monitors.
CD Player:
• A CD player should be integrated into the sound system.
• Chicago City Limits will provide all necessary CD's.

Control:
All feeds should run into a single sound board
It will be necessary to mix/adjust all feeds and levels during technical rehearsal and all performances.
• Specifically, the actors' wireless microphones (see MICROPHONES, above) are to be live while
they are onstage and cut when they are off-stage, at the control of the sound board operator. This
level of control must be possible while leaving all other microphones live throughout all
performances.
Operation:
• Chicago City L'units requires an audio technician to run sound during technical rehearsal and all
performances.
• A single audio technician is very strongly preferred; if more than one person is necessary to run
sound, all necessary technicians must be available for all rehearsals
Setup:
• Prior to load-in (see DAY-OF-PERFORMIINCE SCHEDULE, below) all equipment must be tested
to ensure that it is working properly.
• Backups/Replacements for any and all equipment/batteries must be available throughout the course of
technical rehearsals and performances.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Hospitality
• For details on hospitality, please see the Artist Rider, below.
Sandwich Board
• A sandwich board or similar signboard should be placed near the audience entrance to the venue (i.e.,
in the lobby, etc.) to display photograph's of the Chicago City Limits cast.
• Chicago City Limits will provide all materials to be posted on the signboard
DAY-OF-PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Load-In:
• On the day of any performance, the Stage Managex will arrive for Load-In approximately four (4) hours
before the show.*
• Upon arrival, the Stage Manager should be shown the setups for the stage and backstage areas as well
as the completed and tested setups for sound and lighting.
• The Stage Manager and tech crew will work together to ensure that all equipment is prepared for Sound
Check.
Sound Check:
• On the day of any performance, the Chicago City Limits cast will arrive for Sound Check
approxitnately three (3) hours before the show.*
• Presenter shall provide an audio technician to mix sound during Sound Check and to operate the sound
board for the duration of Chicago City Limits' performance (see SOUND REQUIREMENTS, above).
• Sound check will consist of:
• Checking individual mic levels (while speaking and singing)
• Checking the piano level
• Checking the group mix (all actors speaking and singing with piano playing)
• Checking all offstage mic levels
• Checking all monitar mixes

Pre-Show:
• The Chicago City Limits cast will be given the proposed house opening time by the House Manager.
• No music or entertainment, taped or otherwise, will be played before or after the Chicago City I.iinits
performance without the approval of Chicago City Limits, unless specified on the face of the contract.

Artist Rider
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
If Presenter is providing lodging, Presenter will make reservations at a high-quality hotel such as Hampton Inn,
Radisson, Marriott or pouble Tree. Artists require six (6) single-occupancy non-smoking rooms.
Accommodations must have in-room internet access, private bathroom facilities and a 24-hour telephone
system.
TR.ANSPORTATION
If arriving by air, Chicago City Limits will require ground transportation from the airport to the hotel and from
hotel to venue for all performances, rehearsals, residency activities, load-in, etc. Ground transportation must
accommodate a group of six (6) people plus their luggage, such as a 15-passenger van or two (2) mini-vans.
Possible ground transportation:
• Reimbursement for Artists' to rent 15-passenger van OR two (2) mini-vans (strongly preferred).
• Vehicles to accommodate a group of six (6) people plus their luggage, such as 15-passenger van OR
two (2) mini-vans.

Please list the airports to which you are able to supply transportation and the approximate distance and time
from airport to venue.
Air32ort Distance/Time
**Note: Exact residency times must be given a minimum of six (6) weeks prior to the performance in order to make
air travel arrangements.
HOSPITALITY
Presenter agrees to provide refreshments for six (6) people upon arrival four (4) hours prior to each
performance (exact times to be confirmed once an on-site schedule is finalized).
Refreshments are to include chilled botded water, fruit juices, soft drinks, Gatorade/Powerade/Vitamin Water,
fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese/crackers, coffee, and tea.
Presenter agrees to provide additional water at room temperature backstage during each performance.

~Presenter agrees to provide a hot meal for six (6) people two (2) hours prior to each performance (exact times
to be confirmed once an on-site schedule is finalized). Any menus should be given to the Chicago City Limits
Stage Manager upon arrival for load-in.
Hot meals may be required to include vegetarian, kosher, lactose free, and gluten free options. Any special
dietary requirements will be confirmed three (3) weeks prior to performance dates.

Presenter agrees to provide a table for six (6) people in a green room or private area for dinner.
In lieu of hot meals, presenter may provide reasonable buyout options. These include a cash buy-out of $20 per
person (payable in cash to the Chicago City Limits Stage Manager upon arrival for load-in), or six (6) vouchers
to a college cafeteria with vegetarian, kosher, lactose free, and gluten free oprions.
BACKSTAGE REQUIREMENTS
Presenter will provide at least two (2) clean, well-lit private dressing rooms. Each dressing room will have
mirrors, running water, clean towels and soap, tables and chairs, and a bathroom. Dressing rooms shall be
made available from load-in time until 1 hour after the performance and secured during Chicago City Limits'
sound check and performance.

Presenter agrees to provide a steamer or iron/ironing board in a green room or private area upon arrival four
(4) hours prior to each performance (exact times to be determined once an on-site schedule is finalized).
Presenter agrees to provide a costume rack with forty (40) hangers and a table at least six (6) feet in length in
the backstage right wing. The costume rack, hangers, and table will be in place prior to load-in (exact load-in
time to be confirmed once an on site schedule is finalized).
A final on site schedule and any changes must be approved by and confirmed with the Chicago City Limits
Stage Manager prior to arrival.
