HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-20-1992PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES JULY 20, 1992 The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Chairman Rich Wagner, Councilman Don Kurle, Councilman Pat Burns, Council Candidate Michael Weekly. Staff present were Public Works Director Frank A. Currie, Assistant Public Works Director Alice I. Conrad, City Engineer Mary Seabrands, and Utilities Engineer Rod Linja. ISSUES A. ESTABLISHMENT OF SMALL WORKS ROSTER Staff discussed with the Committee the proposed Ordinance to establish a Small Works Roster to aid the contractor selection process for jobs under one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). The Committee recommended the Council approve the proposed Ordinance at the August 3, 1992 Council meeting. B. CONSULTANT SELECTION PROCEDURES The consultant selection procedures currently in use, per State law, were placed in Ordinance form and reviewed by the Committee. The Committee recommended to the Council at the August 3 meeting that the Ordinance be approved. CONSENT A. FINAL PAY ESTIMATE TO SIGNAL ELECTRIC FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT NO. 281, CONTRACT 90-06 B. The Committee approved the final pay estimate, and recommended approval to the Council at the July 20, 1992 meeting. REQUEST PERMISSION TO SURPLUS VEHICLES The Committee approved the surplus list, and recommended approval to the Council at the July 20, 1992 meeting. C. REQUEST PURCHASE 1990 MUNI GRADER FROM SMITH TRACTOR The Committee approved the request to purchase the grader, with the funds to come from the Equipment Rental Fund, and recommended approval to the Council at the July 20, 1992 meeting. UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS TO ACCOUNT 1219-3960 IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN DOLLARS AND NINETY-NINE CENTS ($7.99), ACCOUNT 1227-0270 IN THE AMOUNT OF THIRTEEN DOLLARS AND THIRTY- NINE CENTS ($13.39), AND ACCOUNT #231-0720 IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-FOUR DOLLARS AND THIRTY- TWO CENTS ($274.32) The Committee approved the adjustments as presented, and recommended approval to the Council at the July 20, 1992 meeting. INFORMATION A. REPORT ON KING COUNTY'S DRAFT MILL CREEK WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN Rod Linja explained to the Committee the content of the draft Mill Creek Water Quality Management Plan, and indicated the measures necessary to improve the water quality in Mill Creek.
