HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-18-1992 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEES MINUTES FEBRUARY 18, 1992' The meeting was called to order at 5: 30 p.m. Those in attendance were Chairman Pete Whittall, Councilman Rich Wagner, and Councilman Pat Burns. Staff present were Public Works Director Frank A. Currie, Asst. Public Works Director Alice I. Conrad, City Engineer Mary Seabrands, and Utilities Engineer Rod Linja. ISSUES A. GREEN RIVER BASIN PROGRAM INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT Rod Linja explained the past history with regard to the Green River Management Agreement, and how it has developed since the year 1968 . He further explained projects which have been accomplished through the Agreement, and what the new Agreement hopes to accomplish in the future. The Committee members requested a copy of Attachment "A" be sent to them for their review, and that the Agreement be forwarded to the Council in March for approval. B. MILL CREEK BASIN PROGRAM INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT Rod Linja explained to the Committee the past Mill Creek Agreement and studies which have taken place with regard to the outlet and Mill Creek itself. The one- year time limit on the Agreement is to allow development of the SAMP (Special Area Management Plan) , and to assess its affect on Mill Creek. The Committee recommended approval of the Agreement to the Council at a March meeting. C. RESOLUTION NO. 2282 - VADIS NORTHWEST AGREEMENT FOR LITTER CONTROL A Contract in the amount of forty-three thousand three hundred eighty-three dollars and sixty cents ($43, 383 . 60) for the year 1992 was reviewed and approved by the Committee, and recommended for approval at the Council meeting. INFORMATION SUMMARY OF 1992 ISSUES AND PROJECTS The Committee asked several questions regarding the project list, and further requested at the next Public Works Committee meeting that an overall explanation be provided of the water system for the entire City.
