III. PUBLIC HEARING
Regarding proposed amendments to chapters of Auburn City Code Title 14, Title 15, Title
16, Title 17, and Title 18 relating to the City of Auburn fioodplain development regulations as
listed below.
Chapter 14.03 - Types of Project Permit Decisions
To specify permit decision types for floodplain development permits.
Chapter 15.68 - Flood Hazard Areas
To substantively amend this chapter to conform to the floodplain and habitat protection
requirements of the Endangered Species Act as specified for the National Flood
insurance Program by FEMA.
Chapter 16.10 - Critical Areas, of Title 16 - Environment
To include a discussion of the City of Auburn floodpiain regulations as proposed to be
amended.
Chapters 17.04 - Definitions, 77.09 - Short Subdivisions, and 17.74 - Improvement
Requirements - Subdivisions, of Title 17 - Land Adjustments and Divisions
To delete and amend existing definitions, and to add new definitions; to include
additional development regulations associated with floods, flood control, and access
requirements; and to update references to the City of Auburn floodplain regulations as
proposed to be amended.
Chapter 18.70 - Variances, Special Exceptions, and Administrative Appeals, of
Title 18 - Zoning
To revise the title of Section 18.70.010 and add a new section 18.70.025 - Variances in
Regulatory Floodplains.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
The City of Auburn Planning Commission is an eight member advisory body that provides recommendations to the
Auburn City Council on the preparation of and amendments to land use plans and related codes such as zoning.
Planning Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
Actions taken by the Planning Commission are not final decisions; they are in the form of recommendations to the
City Council who must ultimately make the final decision.
