WASHINGTON WEDNESDAY JAN 23. 1957 Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Auburn, held a t 4:10 P.M. in the Council Chambers at the City Hall. The meeting was ca11ed to order by Mayor Clakk. Councilmen present: Hitchcock, Kuehn, Raven and Petersen. Councilmen absent: Rupert, Stalder and Cornwell. TERRACE AGREEMENT The Mayor explained that the purposs of the meeting is to decide whether or not to hold the King County Housing Authority to their agreement and to instruct the Engineer on what to do regardin~~the building Qermits. The City Clerk read section 5 of the agreement. Councilman Kuenn said he didntt see how the City could control the use elsewhere. Mr. Grinnell, former Councilman who helped draw up the agreement, said that it was the intention of the Committee that these units not be allowed to be moved around Auburn. The City Engineer said he didn't think these units should be allowed to be set in Auburn unless they meet the building code. He said the pe4ple who are selling these units, are to take them down in sections and selling them as pre-fabi'rcated houses. Art Nilson, Auburn Contractor, said he didntt feel the Council should a12ow these units to be re-assembled elsewhere but that the Terrace should be torn down to its component parts s uch as doors, lumber, sheeting, studs, etc. It was maved by Kuehn and 2nd by H3tchcock that the Council make the King County Housing Authority fulfill their agreement and that the Council interpert paragraph 5-c of the agreement to mean that the buildings be reduced to their component parts, ninand ~~t , door frames, boards, window..frames, sheeting~ studs etc.te~' inc:lude :~ralr- pane3.~, ar~d 'that , t1~e..:Bui1c~~:ng, fr~.specl be lnstructed-to enforce this agreement. MOTION CARRIED VALLEY CITIES Mi,ETING The Mayor said that the Assn. of Valley Cities will be in Auburn, February 14th at $:00 P.M.
