The meeting was called t o order by Nlayor Clark. Councilmen present: Hitchcock, Kuehn, Rupert, Stalder, Cornwell and Petersen. Councilman absent : Raveri. iinutes of the previous meeting held June 18th were approved i M as mailed. B'1 i7IS Bids for the construction of water mains "or L.T.D. 130 were received from C. J. Rockey quoting $6,643.77 and Lloyd Constructioi Co. quotir.g $7,371.20. These bids were referred to the Water Committee, 't7ater Supt. and EngineerinF Dept. fo.r study and report back. Bids for the construction of curb & gutter and sidewalk for L.I.L. 130 were received from Snaughnessy & Co. quoting $21,666.40; and Carl Nilson & Son quoting $19,$68.40. These bids were referred to the Street Committee, Street Supt. and Engineering Dept. ror stud,y ana report back. CITY PLkNNING Councilmarl Kuenn said NIr. Ward from Joseph B. LETT A letter was received rrom the State Health Dept. and Polution Control approving the plans for the sauth Auburn Sewer Extension. ~UARTERLY RE'r'URT Quarterly reports for Building Permits, Cemetery ope.rations and Punchboard and Amse. Game Licenses were received. These reports were ordered placed on file. BUNNEY LAKE Councilman Hitchcock asked if Bonney Lake had returne~J their contrac*., for pog Warden service. The ~ity Attorney said he sent the cor.tract but has heard no reply. PLANNING SURVEY Joseph B. Ward came before the Council presenting a planning survey for Auburn. He said he and his associates had met with the Council Committee, Engineer and Chair man of the Planning commission. Councilman Kuehn asked how far in advance they project their p1lanning. Mr. Ward said they plan 20 years in arivance. The City Attorney asked what kind of Engir.eErs they hire. Mr. War.d said they tlire Civil, Consulting and Mechani.cal Engineer5. Councilman Hitchcock asked if the City of Nit. Vernon paid for their slarvey. Mr. Warci said private organiz3tions paid for this survey. Councilman Hitchcock sai,.i he was in favor of such a planning survey. Councilman Kuehn said he was in favor or this survey if a payment plan can be vrorked out. Mr. Ward sai.d that he f'eels they can work out the payments. It was moved by Kuehn and 2nd by Hi.tchcock that the Committee continue to study this and work out a plan. MOTION CARRIED BOOK PUBLISHING C0. The ~,ity C1erK said he had talkPd with 1'4r. Fran of Book PubliShing Co. and they would like the city to set a price on the city code books. It was moved by Hitchcock and 2nd by Cornwell that a price of 4!P'20.00 be set for these books and the City release all title to the books. MOTION CARRIED ULD STREET LIGHTS The "ity Clerk said he had talked with Councilman Raver., Street Light Chairman, and he recommended the city call for bicis f or the sale of these streat lights in nlace. It was maved by Cornwell and 2nd by Petersen that the re- comrnendation or the Light Committee be accepted with bids to be oened August 6th. tiiUTION CARRIED CLAIMa It was moved bv Rupert and 2nd by Stalder that the following claims against the city, all hairing previously been passed and signed by the Finance Committee be approved and the City Clerk be a~thorized to (iraw warrants in payment.
