Cotzr:cilman Hitchcock sai.d that,the License Committee was
unable to meet with the Ghamber of Commerce Committee on the
proposed busi-nesa li_cense.
Councilman Hitchcock said he had taken a pole of the Taverns
and establishments with i;lass H liquor licenses tc sQe if the
majority wanted closing hours chanpd to conform with the Wash.
State Liquor Control Board laws. he re5ults were $ yes, 2 no;
anu 2 who didn't care.
It was moved by Kuehn and 2nd by Hitchceck that the Ci*y
Attorney draw up an Ordinance amending the city ordinance to make
closing hour5 of taverns and. Class H licenses places conform to
the Wash. State Liquor Control Board Laws. MOTTON CARRIED

Councilman Hitchcock said that there has been a complaint
about a Nursirig Home an H St. N.E. in a Residential. Area.
The Engineer had investigatad the matter and had found a
sign on the d.oor statir.g visiting hou.rs and found tht there was
cne patient ir.side.
Councilman Hitchcock suggested that they contact Phil Austin
t-,he County Investigator on Nursing Homes and he -Ni11 inveatigate
the rnatter.
WATER CONMIITTEE REPORT
Counci_lman Rupert said the Water Committee wi1.1 meet with
Rohr Ai-rcraft Co. on Oct. 15th relative to their Pqquest on the
sewer.
LIGH`I' COMMITTEE REPORT
Councilman Raven sain that the Light Committee will have a
report at the next r-leeting on the request for street iights in
Arrowhead Park.

It was moved by Hitchcock and 2nd by Kuer.n that Ord. No. 1200
entitled "an Ordinance of the City of Auburn, Wash. regulating the
transportation of E assengers and baggage in vehicles for hire with

The Mayor said that he an.-~ the 'Uity Engineer had attended a
meeting zn Ballevue with the MPtro Problem Advisory Committee on
the sewage problem in King Co.
This Committee waa interested in the contaminatinn of i,ake
Washington and the Green & Duwamish Rivers. The sewer line wil-l
srart at the north end of Lake ';r`ashington and continue thru Auburn
to Algona anca Fac;ific.
Tf this is voted i.n by Ying `'o. it will take 1 mill frorn each
city for 1 year for planning anr? Pngineeririg.

The Engineer said that about all the concrete wark for LID
130 is completed an<i he will have afinal estimate at the next
meeting.
STREET SUPT. REPORT
The Street Supt. said the Gas Co. that is putting i.n the gas
Iine ixl Auhurn will, rPpair everything they tore up.
URBAN REIuEVtAL
The City 'Attornev said that he didr.lt thi.nk dateJ should be
set in the Urban Renewal plan, relati.ve to the City adopting
certain codes.
This plan was referred to the City Attorney to re-word the
plan.

The City Cletk said there hasn't been any recommendation

ROHR ANNEXATIUN
Councilman Hitchcock wanted to know if the request of Rohr
Aircraft to annex--,to the City had ever been considered.
'Lhe Engineer said that some property owners south of Rohr
wanted to arnex and they were waiting to see if" they would come in
at the same time.
NICKOLSEN REQUEST
A request was r•eceived from Geo. Nickolsen askirlg that the
loc;us trees at the north end of the Park be rem.ove3:. and he
will repla.r,e the trees with another kind. '
The Mayor said he will have the Park Board study this request.l
HIGHWAY DEPT. MEETIRIG
A letter ivias .received from F. J. McKay District Engineer
saying that they wish to go over the pr.oposed widening of C St.
N.E. taith the City.
