STREET C014MITTEE REPOR:T
Councilman Petersen reported for the Street Committee with the
recommendation that B St. S.E. bP returned to a two-way strPet.
The City Clerk then read a petition signed by 27 property
owners on B St. S.E. requestir►g t.hat B St. S.E. from Main St. E.
to 2nd St. S.E. bs continued as a onP-w3y street.
This matter was refprred back -to the Street Com:mittes for
further study in viekT of this new petition.
ITdSPECTOR
Councilman Towner stated that a fu11 tim.e inspector was neede
in the City Engineers office to handl.e the many inspections that
are required.
The City Engineer stated that with all the requests f ox annex
ation and L.I.U.Is lie was unable to make aIl the necessary inspect
It was moved by Towner and 2nd by Aaby that the City Attorney
be instruct,ed to prepare an emergency ordinance appropriating $200
to pay the salary for an inspector for the halance of the yeax.
LIGHT CCM~~TITTEE REPOR7'
Council.man Prescott report,ed far the Light Cotnmittee stating
that it would be neCessary to erect a pole on 10th St. S.E. before
the requESt for an additior.al street light could be granted.
Mr. Aspinvuall., Ma.nager for Puget Sound Powe.r & Li.ght Co., stat
that'his campany would set a pole at that location at no cost to
the city.

Cauncilman Prescott also stated that the i.rtPrsection of
Ellingson Road and A St. S. F. was very bad and he recominended t.hat
a streefi light be installed to brighten this intersect:ion..

The firm of Johnston & Ca.mpanella of Rentvn submitted a lette
and brochure to explain the servi.ces they could render, in connec-
tion with the design of a Gity center buia_ding, for the City Counc'1
consideration.

Quarterly reports were receiveci from the City Engineer and
Cemeterp Department.

A letter was rsceived .from the Kiwanis Swimming Poo1 Committe
asking what pragress had been made regarding the application to t e
Housing & Home Finance Agency,
The City C1Qrk explained that the information requested on
the application was of such a nature that it wauld be necessary f r
the City to obtain the services of a consulting engineer to prepa e
said applicati.on. He further stated that the City Council would
be required to pass a formal resolution as a part of said applica i
Mr. Brock 1rleir and Jack Thompson were present to represent t e
Kzwanis Committee in case the City Council had further questions.
It was moved by Prescott and 2nd by Aaby that the Mayor appo'n
a Council Com,mittee to work with the Kiwanis Gommittee in obtairai g
the necessary inf ormation regarding the swimming pool propositian
and report their findings at the next regular meeting.

Committee go down and take another look at it, to see what should
be done.

proved but now they have another problem. Kids go by honking the r.
horns and rack tneir• pipes, just generally disturbing the peace.
