It was moved by Aaby and 2nd by Prescott that, Ordinance #1265
entitled an ordinance of the City of Auburn'. Washington, approving
an agreemsnt for cancellation of water contract be introduced and
adopted with the following roll ca11 vote being recorded; Aaby, ye
Petersen, yes; Rupert, yes; Fit,zsimmons, yes; Prescptt, yes;
WATER SUPT.
Water Supt. requested they call for bids Bor C.I. pipe. It w
moved by Rupert and 2nd by Prescott tLhat bids be opened on Novembe
4, 1958.
MOTION CARRIED
Water Supt. also stated they received bids for transformers f
well. From Westinghouse and General Electric. Both companies
ing the same price of $543.02 each,
It was moved by Rupert and 2nd by Aaby that the bid from
Westinghouse be aacepted.

STREET SUPT.
Street Supt. stated that work had started on 6th N.E. and
should be completed in about a week.
PLANNZNG CQNIMISSTON
The City Clerk read the report of the Planning Commi.ssion con-
cerning the rezoning of the East side of Auburn Ave. between $th
and 12th N.E. from unclassified to C-1. The Planning Commission
recommended that it be rezoned to C-1.
It was moved by Rupert and 2nd by Petersen that the recommendc
tion of the Planning Commission be accepted and the City Attorney
be instructed to draw up the necessary ordinance.

The request of A.L. Brister to Sub-divide his property at A St.
and So. 350th for trailer lots be denied because of future land use
complications. ,
Councilman Aaby statsd he couldn't understand the Planning
Commission recommendation after discussion it was decided to table
that recommendation until the next meeting for further study,

The City Clerk read a letter stating the results of the inspe
tion tour of the main downtown business district was turned over t
Fire Chief Calkins. They thanked the City for the fine co-operati
they received.
This was ordered placed C3N fi1Q.

The City Clerk submitted the final assessment roll for L.I.D.
#133 and L.I.D. #135•
Theq were orderd placed on file. .

City Cl,erk read a request from Mr. Shindeldecker requesting
the S.E. corner of 314th be annexed into the City.
City Clerk stated he taliced to the Ca.ty Engineer and there is
a petition out now that would take that area in.
It was moved by Prescott and 2nd by Fitzsimmons that this re-
quest be attached to the petition when it come in.

street l.i.ghts be installed in front of the bowling alley.
, After much discussion Mx•. Aspinwal,l stated the Light Company
',would malce a survey of it and report back.
It was moved by Aaby anci 2nd by Prescott the Ca,ty Clerk be
'instructed to write aletter to the State Highway Department about
'the bad condition at the intersection of Howard Road and Enumclaw
IHighway. MaTION CARRIED
GREEN RIVER 0RDTNANCE
'City Clerk read the Green River Ordinance .for the benefit of
Ilthe people who did not know what it was pertained to.
It was moved by Prescott and 2nd by Fitzsimmons that i.t be
referred to the I.icense Cpmmittee and City Attorney.

City Clerk read a letter from Water Supt. recommending that
'ordinance #106$ provi,ding Eharges for connections of water mains
to abutting trunk mains in the City of Auburn be increased from
'$2s00 a foot to $3.00 per foot, due to the increased cost of material
and labor.
This wa5 eeferred to the Water Committee.

City Clerk read a letter from Heisserman stating effective
',Oct. 1, 1958, the price of PS 300 fuel oil was reduced 25¢ to $3.70
