amending section 42 of Orciinance No. 956, section 1 of Ordinance
No. 987, section 1 0f Ordinance No. 1067, and section 1 of
Ordinance No. 1083 0f Ordinances of the City of Auburn, prescribin
revised rates for City war,er, be introduced and adopted with ths
following roll call being recorded: Aaby, no; Petersen, yes;

AUBURN Y.M.C.A.
The City Clerk read a letter from the Auburn Y.M.C.A.
requesting the City Council to give serious consideration to
supporting their parogram of erecting a building to house complete
facilities for a comprehensive program by making available a
tract of land for a building site.
Mr. Gorden Dick had other commetts to make about the
erection of this building.
This letter was ordered to be turned over to the Planning
Commission.

, The City Clerk read a letter from Auburn Day's, Inc. request-
i.ng the City Council to designate the week from July 13th
through 1$th as Auburn Days. Another request was for the American
Legion to be allwoed to have a carnival during this week.

request be granted prouiciing a spot is chosen that is approved
by the Counca.l,.

requesting fcar a franchise to start a Bus system in the Cit3r of

There had beeaa a trench dug by the Washington Natural Gas Co.
and it was no°t filled in properl.y, resulta.ng in the street sinking
and farming a deep ho1,e.
The Ci,ty Engineer repa.-ted that the Gas Co. will be notified
that unl.es~ this condition a.s xepaired no further permite wi11 be
issued for gas main installation in the Czty af Auhurn until
such repairs are made.
! The Ci,ty Attorney was instructed to prepazr an ordinance to
jprotect the city in such conditi.on caused by aontragtors doing
, work in streets and a1.1eys in the city.
DQCTOR MAHONEY'S REQUEST
The City C1erk read a. letter for•m Dactor Mahoney requesting
somtthing be done about the intersection on Auburn Ave. in fromt
of the Post Offi.ce. The Street Supt. stated that the State Dept.
Engineear has looked at the intersection and recommended that
seven lights be installed, elimi.nate the parking spacw, and
eli,minated the walk signs. An estimate cos~ being $755.00.
The letter was referred to the Street ~'ommittee.

The City Clerk read a letter from the State Highway Commissio.
requesting that the City Officials sign a second agreement between
the State of Washingtan and the City of Auburn for relocation of

to the City Attorney and the Ma.yor with power to act.

The City Clerk read a letter from the City's Dept. heads
requesting that the Council take the necessary action to adjust
the extra payroll raises.
This letter was referred to the Finance Committee.

The City Clerk.read a letter from the Equity Realty requesti

The City Clerk read a letter from the Valley Land Office
requesting approval on the Cedar Lanes I'lat.

AUDIENCE
Mr. Carlton L. Nau from the Foster-Marshall Bond Brokers
announced that their office would en§~oy doing business with the
City of Auburn if the situation ever arose.
