NEW BUSINESS
There were several people present voicing their opinions
bout the messy condition on G St. S.W. Pictures were presented
o the Council for study, There was quite a long discussion on
his subject as to what should be donr.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Aaby that the City
ttornQy be instructed to look into the possibilities o.f having
work law and also instruct the Chief of Police to patrol this
rea.
MOTION CARRIED
Thera were several people present raquesting the City CouncilL
o takc action on their pctition for improving D St. S.E. on the
asis of a 32 foot roadway surface. The Street Committee have
reviously rejected this petition due to the fact it did not
eet the minimtun width as specified in their Street Dept. policy.
George Schuler will have a sketch ready for the next Council
ecting showing the location of houses and a diagram of the street.
The City Clr.rk read a letter from the Auburn Chamber of
ommerce requesting the City Council to grant them permission to
roeeed with their plans of constructing a park at the Czties
ntrance near the East Va11.ey Highway and 300th St. So.
Bob Gains presanted the plans tif this park to the Counci2,
xplaining the details.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Prescott that if this
grees with the Sta.te Highway Dept, they can go ahead with these

Claude Hostetter requested the City Council to take some
action on young people, out of school, loitering around the
grounds. The Chicf of Police stated that he wouldntt like to
ar.rest anyone around that area because they wouldntt be able to
know if thGy were loitering or not. Ly1e Schnaider stated he
would study this problem and if something could be done, it
would go into effect next school year.
The problem about the entrance gate to the football field
was raised again. There were sevcral people present voicing
their opinion about the legal procedure taken several ycars back.
Councilman Prescott stated that Lhey were trying to locate the
original deed to see just what agreements were made. Study on
this problem wi11 be continued.
CORRESPONDENCE
The City Clerk read a Call for Bids on Cast Iron Pipe f or
the Water Dept.
It was moved by Petersen and 2nd by Kammeyer that the City
Clerk be instructed to call for bids on Cast Iron Pipe, bids to
be opened on June 2, 1959•
MOTION CARRIED
The City Clerk read at letter from the Auburn Planning
Commission recornrnending the denial of several petitions presented
to them. Thase petitions were Mr. Les Fagg's, Mr. Mark Hedmants,
and Mr. R.O. Baints.
The City Clerk read a letter frnm the Auburn Planning
Conzmission requesting the Council to grant permission to amend
sections of Ordinance #1041.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nc1 by Pregcott tha the City
Attorney be instructed to amend the nece!ssary sections of
Ordinance #1041.

The City Clerk read a letter from Mrs. Van Woolery question-
ing the action taken by the Power Co. and Telephone Co. with the
power poles on A St. S.E.
