- MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Judi Roland called the meeting fo order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers
located on the first floor of Aubum City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Au6urn, INA.
Commission Members present were:_ Chair. Judi.Roland, Bob Baggett, Ron. Copple,,
Mi,chael Hamilton; Joan Mason, and Wayne Osbome. Vice Chair Kevin Chapman and
_ Dave Peace were excused: ~
Staff present included:,lnterim Planning Director Kevin Snyder, Planning Manager
Elizabeth Chamberlain, and Planning Secretary Renee Tobias.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. February 2, 2010 . .
Commissioner Copple moved and Commissioner Hamilton seconded to approve the .
minutes from the Februa.ry 2, 2010 meeting as submitted.
MOTION CARRIED.UNANIMOUSLY 6-0
B. February 23, 2010 .
Commissioner Copple moved-and Commissioner Hamilton seconded to approve the
minutes from the February 23, 2010 meeting as submitted.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 6-0
C. March 23, 2010
Commissioner Baggett moved. and Chair Roland seconded to approve the minutes
from the March 23; 2010 meeting as submitted.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 6-0 -
IIL PUBLIC COMMENT
None
IV. PLANNING DEPARTMENT REPORT -
Interim Planning Directqr Kevin Snyder announced that Principal Planner Elizabeth
Chamberlain has been'promoted to Planning Manager and will be responsible for
managing currenf and long-range planning functions for the City.
Planning Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain distributed a conceptual drawing #orthe City
. Hall Plaza and a project map for the Promenade, providing the Commissioners with an
update on both projects.

There were a few questions and discussion from tfie Commission regarding several
locations/projects in the city including the Environmental Park, Wal-Mart Super Store,
Les Gove Community Center, King Gounty Library expansion and temporary levee. .

VI. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Introduction of new Commissioner Wayne Osborne
.
Chair Judi Roland introduced Wayne`Osborne asthe new Commissioner who will
serve an unexpired appointment ending December 31, 2010. Mr. Osborne and his
family moved to Aubum in 1975. and currently live in the northeast section of Aubum:
Within the past finro years; Mr. Osbome has become involved wifh the City; attending
City Council and Committee meetings as well as serving on the Gode Update
Project. Mr. Osborne is a retired air traffic controller.
B. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair
Commissioner Copple moved and Commissioner Mason seconded to nominate Judi
Roland as Chair of the Aubum Planning Commission. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 6-0
Commissioner Mason moved and Commissioner Copple seconded to nominate -
Kevin Chapman as Yce Chair of the Auburn Planning Commission.
MOTION GARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 6-0
Staff noted that these elections are valid through December 31, 2010; nominations
would occur in January 2011.
C. Expiration of Appointments
Staff answered fhe Commission's questions regarding appointment term expirations.
Further clarification from the City Clerk will be sought and shared withCommissioners.
VII.ADJOURNMENT
There'being no further business to come before the Planning Commission, Chair Roland
adjoumed the meeting at 7:47 p.m.
