MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER 4:00 PM, ANNEX BUILDING CONFERENCE ROOM NO. 2,

Chair Peloza called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. in Conference Room No. 2
on the second floor of the Annex Building, One East Main Street, Auburn WA.
Members present: Chair Bill Peloza, Vice-Chair Sue Singer, Member John
Partridge.Staff present: Mayor Pete Lewis, Deputy Chief of Police Bob Lee,
Assistant Chief of Police Larry Miller, HR Director Brenda Heineman, Employee
Relations/Compensation Manager John Fletcher, Emergency Preparedness
Manager Sarah Miller, Police Secretary/Scribe Kathy Divelbiss. Others present:
citizens Wayne Osborne, Evan Bailey, Cynthia Schmidt and Nick Perius, Auburn
Reporter representative Robert Whale.

A.Approval of Minutes of the May 10
, 2010 Municipal Services
Committee Meeting
The Committee requested the following corrections to the minutes:
Add the following verbiage to IV.A: insert after adjusted “and
additional review is needed by legal, etal of Resolution comments
from Valley Towing Company “
Insert periods at the end of sentences IV.A and V.A.
Insert a final sentence to item V.D. as follows: The grant
application deadline is June 30, 2010.
Vice Chair Sue Singer moved to accept the Minutes as amended of the
May 10th, 2010 meeting. Member Partridge seconded. Chair Peloza
concurred.

IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS (Action Items)
A. Resolution No. 4600* (Kelly)
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
authorizing the acceptance of a grant from the Washington Service Corps
to provide a full-time member to the City of Auburn, and authorizing the
Mayor and City Clerk to execute the necessary agreements to accept said
member
Vice Chair Singer moved to forward Resolution No. 4600 to the full
Council for acceptance. Member Partridge seconded. Chair Peloza
concurred.
MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
V. INFORMATION / DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Animal Control and Rescue Update (Heineman)
HRDirector Heineman updated the Committee on the City’s process and
negotiations towards securing animal control and rescue services and
presented documents of the current draft of Animal Services Interlocal
Agreement and a copy of email from King County regarding the Kent
Animal Shelter. Member Partridge explained the Auburn Veterinary
Inquiry meeting and topics of discussion.
B. Dangerous Dog Program Information (Kelly)
Deputy Assistant Chief Bob Lee reported that 172 potentially dangerous
dogs and 1 dangerous dog have been registered. There have been 2
cases filed with the court for this ordinance and the court ruled in favor of
the City on both. He also explained that when a potentially dangerous, or
dangerous dog is registered that information is given to Valley
Communications so that an officer responding to that location will know in
advance of the possible dog problem.
