A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE
PURCHASING AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF
SEATTLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENTERING
INTO AN ENERGY SERVICES CONTRACT
WHEREAS, The City of Auburn intends to implement energy conservation
measures in City facilities and vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has an existing contract with McKinstry
Essention, Inc. to perform facilities assessment, prepare a conservation services
proposal, and installation services; and
WHEREAS, City staff have reviewed the Seattle contract and determined
that it meets the needs of the City in this area; and
WHEREAS, because of the specialized nature of this work, and because
of McKinstry's familiarity with the City of Auburn's facilities, staff recommends
entering into a cooperative purchase agreement in order to take advantage of the
favorable terms of the SeattlelMcKinstry agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WA HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a
Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the City of Seattle in substantial
conformity with the agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated
herein, for the purpose of utilizing the City of Seattle's contract with McKinstry to
obtain energy conservation services.

Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this
legislation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.

cooperative governmental purchasing agreement for various supplies, materials,
equipment and routine, expert andlor consultant services, using competitively awarded
contracts. The following terms and conditions:
~ . Each agency, in contracting for the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment and
services, agrees at its discretion, to extend contracts for shared use to the extent
permitted bylaw and agreed upon by those parties and vendors.
Each agency is responsible for compliance with an additional or va in laws and y
regulations regarding purchases.
3. Any purchases shall be effected by a purchase orderfrom the purchasing agency
and directed to the vendors}.
4. The originating contracting agency does not accept res onsibilit or [iabiiit forthe P Y Y
performance of any vendor used by the purchasing agency as a result of this
agreement.
5. Each agency shall be responsible forthe payment of any items} purchased through
a contract or purchase arderthat resulted from this Agreement.
