2011 TADA: Pro ress in Progress
The mission of The Auburn Downfown Association (TADA) is to promote,
improve, and preserve Downtown as the heart and soul of the community.
18t Quarter:
Organization: Oversees membership, fundraisin_q, partnerships and proqram administration.
Monthly Board, Ex. Com. &and Main Street Committee meetings
Continuing day-by-day, business-by-business, rate-payer relationship building effort.
Medical and Dental is still weakness.
Re-abbreviated and presented ADA as TADA for 2011.
Feb. Ribbon cutting and Open House at new TADA ofrice at 222 E. Main St., which makes us
more accessible, visible and centrally located.
Met with city financial personnel to complete BIA tax and TADA budgef requirements.
Developed and implemented ratepayer tiered benefit program.
Developed and implemented program outlining TADA sponsorship/membership opportunities.
Fulfilled role on Chamber Board attending meetings, luncheons and recruiting members.
Met with Colleen Raeburn at W. Auburn HS per Career Club volunteer opportunity DT.
Joined Tamba Japan Economic Development Opportunity Task Force.
Attended Tourism Committee and AIFM meetings.
Meet with Mayor Lewis monthly.
Partnered with ATB on basket for Soroptomist's Cupid's caper
Economic Restructuring: Strenqthen and broaden the economic viabilitv of the commercial
historic districts:
Developed and placed new `Welcome' letter and business cards at city business license desk.
Proactively welcomed several new businesses to Downtown.
Submitted recommended parking changes to the cify for review.
Building relationships with DT building owners and property managers per business mix.
Developed a spreadsheet of current available space for sale or lease.
Worked with city departments heads per unlicensed businesses within BIA securing revenue
while overcoming objections as best as possible.
Promotion: sells a positive imape of the commercial district and encoura_qes consumers and
investors to live, work, shop, play, and invest in the downtown district.
Designed, ordered and placed large Heart A-Boards to market TADA in busy intersections.
Aubum Reporter. Began an ad on their site which will link to the www.AubumDT.org
Nominated and voted in new Board member Steve Fiksdal with Better Home Properties to
assist in Economic Restructuring committee work as a commercial Realtor.
Planned and held an Open House in Feb., now an annual event with a Heart of Aubum theme.

Attended some DT Redevelopment Committee meetings.
Joined partnership and have met weekly with Auburn Valley Creative Arts and city per an Art &
Wine walk planned for May and August of 2011. We hope to plan more for 2012.
Built Facebook page.
Design: Enhance the character of the commercial historic districts throuqh qood desiQn and
public amenities compatible with historic features.
Met with city departmenfi heads per 2011 Clean Sweep partnership.
Developed an extensive and aggressive list per project needs DT.
Purchased lights and holiday decorations for 2011 implementation.
Working with DT building owners and property managers per improvement needs.
Submitted list of DT outdoor furnishings' for hopefully replacement with modem design.
Remainder of 2011:
• Continuing much of 1' quarter efforts.
o Continue revenue generation effort.
• Initiate ESP electronic communication tool
e Produce two additional TV spots with Fasttrax Media; www.EZNSpots.com.
• Prepare for May 7 Clean Sweep; May 13-14: Art & Wine Walk, Date tbd: Member BBQ;
Sept tbd: Open House; Dec tbd: Holiday banquet, bazaar or fundraiser.
• Committee work includes a marketing plan for possible weekly or monthly public events
to draw folks Downtown.
• Gather trivia and history from members for media, our website and social media.
• Downtown Guide and map: We are currently accepting bids to produce a printed piece
by opening day of Farmers Market.

• Worked with accountant to ensure 2009 tax requirements were handled in a timely manner
• Continued Board vacancies search & continued work to build committees
e Prepared 2010 Work Plan for Susan Kempf, WA State Main St. Program Director.
• Attended a legislative luncheon & trade show in Olympia in to save the WA Main St. program
• Prepared Main St. objectives & activities report for Olympia.
o Joined the City Vision Urban Core Task force meeting monthly for 9 months
• Continued BIA database clean up & continued visitswith ratepayers.
e Held Open House in feb. at 1 Main; now an annual event with Heart of Auburn theme.
• Attended PEAK PerFormance seminar
• Working with city per ratepayer suggestions: repainted directional arrows & dividing stripe to
prevent accidents, added parallel striping along Main; removed trees blocking storefronts;
removed Safeway table that attracted loiterers; removed tables from B St. Plaza for same
reason; installed light near The Ave.; added parking signage.
• Attended ATB & AIFM meetings
• Held Board Retreat in April; Board training; Mission/Vision; revised By-Laws
o Researched websites from area Top Tier DT Assns. to include Ellensberg, Kennewick, Walla-
Walla, Port Townsend, Port Angeles & Olympia
• Secured website designer/developer partnering with city & ATB on hosting & maintenance.
o Attended Main Street Conference in May with 2 Board members.
• Invited Fasttrax Media owner, Doug Basler; www.EZNSpots.com to speak at a Board meeting
• Attended DT Redevelopment Committee meetings
• Met with city per Clean Sweep partnership; had better presence than past..
• Met with 4 landscaping companies & Vadis per DT deep clean needs.
• Spoke at Kiwanis & Lion's Club luncheon.
o Sponsored VIP night for AGOD's
