CITY OF AUBURN CITY COUNCII. MEETTNG MINUTES
January 21, 1991 7:30 p.m.
I. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City of Aubum Council was called to order by Mayor
Bob Roegner at 7:30 p.m. in the City of Auburn Council Chambers.
A. Flas Salute Mayor Roegner led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance.

Those in attendance included Mayor Bob Roegner and Councilmembers
Whittall, Wagner, Bums, Larson, Brothers, and Kurle. Staff inembers in
attendance included Police Chief Jake Evans, Fire Chief Bob Johnson, Parks
Recreation Director Len Chapman, Personnel Director Gretel Sloan,
Finance Director Pat Dugan, Public Works. Director Frank Cunie, Planning
Director Steve Lancaster, City Attomey Stephen Shelton, and City Clerk
Robin Wohlhueter. Other staff in attendance included Police Lieutenant Bob
Almy, Assistant Director of Parks 8ti Recreation Dick Deal, Cemetery
Coordinator Arnie Galli, Recreation Coordinator Sharon LaVigne, Recreation
_ Specialist Pam Gallion, and Solid Waste Supervisor Dick Sulser.

a. Personnel Director

Viki Witschger, Director of Administrative_ Services for the City
of Tukwila., made a brief presentadon in recognition of Personnel -
Director Gretel Sloan's Presidency for the Washington Council of
Publi¢ Personnel Administrators during 1990. Ms. Witschger
mentioned Gretel Sloan's many accomplishments while a board
member, and presented Gretel Sloan with a plaque.
b. Finance Staff

Mayor Roegner announced Senior Accountant Sally Finch, and
Enterprise Fund Accountant Laura Benson are recipients of a
plaque certifying the completion of educational and training
requirements, and are recognized as Professional Finance Officers
, of the State of Washington. Sally Finch accepted a plaque from
Mayor Roegner. Laura Benson was unable to attend the Council
meeting. .

. Even though Jan Hubbard was unable to attend tonight's meeting;
Mayor Roegner acknowledged her as a recipient of her
certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk. Deputy City -Clerk

Mayor Roegner iead and presented the proclamations to Pam
- Gallion and Sharon LaVigne.in honor of their dedicated ,
involvement with the City of Aubum 'Tree of Giving" for the
past.four holiday seasons.

• Mayor Roegner presented a plaque to Reverend John Egerdahl
who has presided oa the Cemefery Board for 19 years in
recognidon of his many years of seivice. Mayor and Councilmembers extended thanks to Reverend Egerdahl for his
service to the City of Aubum.

B. PlanninQ & Communitv Develonment

Chairman Burns, reported the Planning & Community Development
Committee has not met since the last Council meeting. The next. meeting of
the Planning & Community Development Committee is scheduled for
January 28, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. C. Public Works ` Chairman ICurle reported the Public Works Committee met prior to the
Council meeting at, 5:30 p,m.; and the minutes will be of public record when
published. Chairman Kurle asked for supportof items on this evening's
council agenda. The nezt meedng of the Public Works Committee is
scheduled for February 4, 1991 at 5:30 p.m.
D. Fi'nance
Chairman 'Brothers reported the Finance Committee met prior to the Council
meeting this evening at 7:00 p.m. to discuss ending fund balance, claims and
payroll. The next meeting of the Finance Committee is scheduled for
Monday, February 4, 1991 at 7:00 p.m..

City Code 3.36.010 entitled "Sale - Authorized" to require a sixty-day
' waiting period following notice sent for unclaimed property rather
than the present six month waiting period and adding a new section
which provides for other methods of unclaimed property disposition.

authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk of Aubum and the City of
Pacific to share the cost of providing for required mitigation and
maintenance for the permanent impact to the fisheries resources along
the north bank of the White River resulting from the center pier of
the Stuck River Bridge.
Motion by Councilmember Kurle, second by Councilmember Burns to

Executive Session
Mayor Roegner announced there would be a brief executive session for =
appmximately fifteen minutes to discuss litigation. Mayor Roegner
aadcipated the Council will not need to take action as a result of the execudve session, and recommended adjournment
